Once again @tmaappreciationweek gets me to finish something I wanted to draw for a while now. In one of the Magnus Protocol streams (I think it was the Kickstarter pre-launch stream?) Jonny or Alex said something about a scrawny, beaten up street cat Admiral (and something about him being a ginger) and my mind immediately went to draw parallels to Jon getting beaten up all the time in S3. So Day 2: Animals of TMA - The Admiral. Again. Won't be able to get something done for every day cause it's con crunch season! But I can't just pass over an opportunity to draw The Admiral. I just love cats...

If I had a nickel for every time the names of the victims of monsters, who steal body parts to disguise themselves, were already mentioned in the very first episode in a Magnus podcast I had two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice

Was I the only one who heard the kid make a ham sandwich that 'tasted wrong' and immediately went oh thats not ham, that's probably the mum. Or was that just me? It could also be that the mum was gone for so long that the ham went bad, but there was no new diary entry to show more time had past. So my brain keeps thinking cannibalism.

I really hope the kid didn't eat their own mum, that just makes it even sadder.

YES, I immediately had to same thought. Though the logistics on that are a bit off, like how fast got the mum turned into ham and how did it end up in the fridge, but we're dealing with the supernatural, so still possible.

But I also love this casement, it feels so much like early Magnus! I do still like the later seasons as well, but there was just something about the first few statements that did not try super hard to fit into the neat little Fear boxes. Spooky things were happening and you couldn't always tell why or how. Like why did Graham Folger write "keep watching" into hundreds of notebooks and then ate at least one of them? Simple: It's just eerie! No bigger "He tried to counter the Stranger with the Eye." Or MAG 5 Thrown Away (even tho I immediately fit it into the same box as MAG 72 Takeaway because of the multiple same body parts thing). I see people discuss these two things over and over again because it doesn't quite fit into the lore that was later built, but they were great! And I could somehow feel like the later statements didn't do those things anymore cause I could instantly tell which Fear was involved and everything just made sense in the Fear logic way.

IT IS NOT THE ARCHIVES UNIVERSE

My crazy nutjob theory is this world is slightly off from the Archives universe- its a world with its own entities that did identical things, slightly different. I think the big twist will be that, its revealed, the Archivist here was NOT John, but Martin or Tim or some other rugpull nonsense.

It already got mentioned in the comments but there is the theory that it means Prime, like the first Georgie we got to meet - which would be Archives Georgie. Also we know that there have been the occasional weird things in the transcripts that were wrong or don't mean anything like the 'Upload data <sulphur.BECHER>complete' from the same episode - MAGP 31. We had both Georgies in that particular episode, so I'd think it's to mark them as different persons. But the new to the Protocol series Georgie did not get the P suffix when she first showed up in a stage direction the previous page. So so far it only came up once.

I'm trying to decide if Georgie having no noted reaction to Sam name-dropping Celia means:

a) She doesn't know Celia has disappeared from her universe/thinks she's dead.

b) She does know Celia is missing, but didn't make the connection because she was focused on other things at the moment

c) The Celia who got stuck in the TMP universe is from a secret third universe and we're going to be given a real curveball when Sam meets TMA Celia

d) When she left Celia got erased from everyone's minds

e) I'm somehow overthinking this and it means nothing

Okay, it's thinking time!

Georgie reacted quite intense to the tape recorder Archivist thing and immediately thought, that it would be Jon. She even went so far as to be sure, that he'd kill again. Jon has never killed one of his statement victims by asking them about their story (Peter Lukas resisted and he was an Avatar, I don't know if normal people ever could have even resisted - also I don't think they know about Lukas anyway). So where is this immediate conclusion coming from? Especially considering the terms they were on the last few times they saw each other. Georgie and Jon got along really well there in the end.

There has to be more to it cause I don't buy that she would jump from was we've heard in MAG 190, 191, (bit of 192 and 198) 199 and 200 to this!

So what if something actually happened in the time between the reversal of the change and this episode? I don't have anything solid cause there are a few problems with what I was thinking. Like, what if Jon actually didn't die and also didn't get sucked to somewhere else. What if Jon went full monster and was actually a problem post change. This would explain why Georgie immediately jumped to this conclusion. And we know there was a time gap between the change (2018, reversal may have been in 2019, time was weird) and where we started in Protocol (2024). And JMJ only showed up about a year prior to MAGP 1. Why did they only show up at that time? Now that we know that time apparently is the same in Archive-universe and Protocol-universe, where were JMJ during these few years? But also like, this is where this thought falls apart - if Jon roamed Archive-London, what were M(artin) and the other J(onah) doing?

Also like, tape recorders are Web and not Beholding and they where only following Jon because of his chosen Antichrist thing. What's the new deal with them?

So ghost wax is about this organization that fight monsters. To find out what kind of monster, where it might be and how it started they send this wizard necromancer Owen Voncid who is older then dirt and talks in a stilted way to temporarily bring the corpse back to life or something to tell their story, when he does this he records their tale on a wax cylinder not just cuz he’s a vintage dude but because the wax is made by spooky bees… yeah. It’s good not funny mostly but like Magnus spooky only they are fighting the monsters not just investigating them.

That's a great idea! I would recommend the Catalogue of the Trapped Dead, in which you can keep people who have knowledge about these things as monster manual- [now I am shot several times]
