Little headcanon about wraith:

When they're offering someone a hand (to help them up, for example) they use their non-feeding hand and offer it to them palm up as a gesture to nonverbally say "hey, I'm not here to hurt you, I am offering assistance"

s2e7 Instincts

Does anybody know why the wreckage from the wraith crash doesn't look organic? There's lots of metal which makes me think this isn't a wraith ship, unsure why they would be on a human made one though? Why weren't they part of a bigger hive/cruiser? Where they on the run? Which makes me want to bring up: what's done with wraith born female? Is it up to the hive queen? Are they killed? was Ellia supposed to be killed but these wraith took her to save her life? Was she on death row and to be killed somewhere else? Was she being transported to another hive? Raised by another queen? Given to a queen-less hive to be raised into command? Was- [ im shot dead, my yapping unfinished]

rambling questions about wraith nails

So here we have: Steve, Steve, and Drone 1 (Suspicion). Then Drone 2 twice (Season 1 finale/2 premiere)

We can see Steve has long as fuck nails on both his feeding hand and his off hand. The drone from that episode has some pretty solid nails on his off hand but definitely not as long as Steve's. And we can see Drone(2) has a similar length of nails BUT on his feeding hand, with his off hand trimmed short.

Im thinking the short nails may be a necessity for hive maintenance and other tasks? Are there sub-ranks within the drones with some doing more manual labor? Does it vary between hives? Are drones allowed personal preference? Can they even Have personal preference? Is it up to the discretion of a hives commander? The queen of multiple hives? Are there some drones who have both their hands trimmed to maximize their manual labor output and they aren't intended to be kept alive long enough to even feed once? Would they even Need nails to feed on an unconscious person in the hives food stores? Would they be given the gift of life or were they just that expendable? The mid-level nails wouldn't be a hindrance too much so would it even be worth it to trim their nails? Would it be symbolic and they cut the nails anyways to Show they're expendable? Would wraith that originate by cloning have their nails pre-existing at a certain length?

I don't remember if some wraith ranked higher than drones also have their off hand trimmed so I have to keep a look out. And I also don't remember their typical nail length. Does it vary? Is Steve just REALLY not doing any hive maintenance? Is it a status thing? Is it personal preference? Are some wraith looked at weirdly for their nail choices? Do military-focused guys have their feeding hands long and their off hands short for better usage? Would having short nails on both of a warriors hands mean someone is confident almost to the point of arrogance of their fighting ability? Or would that signify they don't do much fighting at all? Are long nails a point of pride?
