FINGERS coiling round the edges of the book the further they delved into the story, lips drying and breath shortening with EVERY sentence. His throat kind of hurt too, mainly because it had been so long since he had ever needed to read aloud, but he didn’t mind that much, a small glass of water would fix that anyway. It was a cheesy tale, one he was particularly a FAN of. He was unsure what Lyra thought of it, but by the way she was contently pressed against his arm and how whisky set eyes prayed on the book, Barry presumed she was just as enveloped in it’s pages as he was. He knew so, because every so often he would bring his glance from the words to her face, just to see if she was excited or as sad or as HAPPY as he was.
PAGES turning the thrill was building up as characteristically he put on voices for every character, RAISED his voice when there was shouting and toned it down when they whispered. Sometimes he got so into the tale he would jump and lean forward, often taking poor Lyra out of her comfortable resting place on his arm. But as the scenarios returned to calm in the pages, he would return to a happy position, the warmth of his shirt against her cheek, still against the couch as the story TUMBLED from his lips as the minutes passed. Barry probably knew the story off by heart, but he thought the book made him look more smart, so he used it for guidance anyway.
AS THE last few pages lend texture to his fingers and the words on the pages start to drown in their ink and fade into the blankness of the paper, his voice TOPPLES, slowing down, head canting towards her to see what she thought of the story and maybe his story telling skills to. Warm smile beaming across pale features as hands clasped the book closed slowly. Mainly for dramatic effect with the words
‘HAPPILY EVER AFTER.’
drawing their book to a close.

SNOW drenched fields glistened white in midday sun. It was nothing overly exciting, yet; that never stopped the blonde feeling gleeful over it. Even if he was a young man now; Sinnoh would always have the ‘snow day every day’ essence lingering around it for him. Sifting fresh air in deep breath, the familiar smile was still cast upon pale features. Fond memories of his journey, his ups and his downs all seemingly coming back. The blondes thoughts were cast away; so much so that the prospect of someone else being in the same space as him was the furthest thing from his mind. But; quickly Barry was shaken from his reverie to a rather COLD awakening.
WHETHER the girl had slipped or tripped or maybe just not looking where she was walking; she had shoved him back. The not so gentle thud of his orange and white striped cardigan colliding with the tree trunk, unsettling the leave perched snow as it toppled down onto both of them. Slipping down the back of his shirt, sending shudders up his spine as the snow bit at his skin. Teeth chattering together; Barry let out a rather impressive ‘yelp’ as he attempted to remove the snow from his back (with a rather pathetic looking dance). “C-cold! Woah, get it out! Get it out!”

A KIND TAP reached the small girls shoulder. The party was just starting up, the first dance was just over and as wonderful as it was; Red still had a bit of energy left in him even after the whole days events. So who better to get his second dance than his little sister? Brows raised and smile obviously still elated with the big day still going strong he offered her a hand.
"CAN I HAVE A DANCE?”
