Like i said on my reblog of your art earlier, on social media im usually a bit more.. Not me, per say when first using a platform. I mean, if you talk to any of my friends on discord they can def prove that when it took me awhile to actually get to my chaotic self. But for some reason, when i put two and two together to form the thought that—WOAH, this really cool art (specifically the winner eyes shots) that keeps coming up on my dash like every day is the person who made sailor song, that really cool mean gills animatic!! I mean i didnt find it out from the winner eyes one first i found out from the mean gills one but still
For some reason despite being a little lenient on tumblr with people since i hadnt really used an actual social media platform like this before (aka like instagram, twitter, all that i never used), i was just so EXCITED when i realized it was Ant. I mean, the moment i saw your sailor song animatic i sent it to a server owned by a fellow mcyt artist (@dyslexiccanary/@canaryinthevoid my canary twin >:D) that very commonly shares underrated works. And i grabbed a mod and went “GET THIS ON THAT ANNOUNCEMENT BOARD!!!!!” I mean, underrated artists stick together!!!
When i made that reblog it genuinely made me come out of my comfort zone without even TRYING to go out. I just, felt like i could be ME. My wacky, very chaotic self!! Often it can be hard to actually embrace that because of often being told to be quiet or calm down, or just not getting what that person needs is.. Not what im doing. But it just came so naturally, i just knew somehow that i could be myself.
I am honestly so glad i met you Ant, it just feels life changing. I mean, LITERALLY when i got that art is started crying i mean ACTIVE TEARS I DIDNT EVEN READ ANYTHING YET LMAO—But i genuinely hope that i can get to know you better in the future :D
My discord guys despite being on this platform are gonna get a heart felt paragraph on there instead lmao since like. Most of them dont actively use tumblr LOL
But honestly, i dont have that big of a follower base, but that never mattered to me. My first post one here was just me being me and wanting to share what i was excited about, winning a prize for some desert duo art (not an actual prize just a plaque but i still got 2nd place >:D). Tumblr has really let me express myself in ways i couldnt before. Only a few people i know on discord (and even less in real life) know about mcyt, more specifically life series and hermitcraft. Much less care when i talk about it. But on tumblr? Thats the power of social media, the GOOD of it. You will ALWAYS find people who love the same things as you, who can relate and talk about and LIKE the same things as you. People you can share works with, even if it’s bad ones.
I really dont open up on tumblr much since there’s not any filtering to like follower only that i know of and this is all public, but even then, i can find comfort here. I know i belong here because of how kind, how supportive, how open this community is.
Im so happy i’ve made my place here, and i hope i can continue to do so in the future.
