First Day.
It had already been nearly a month since her parents picked up all their family roots and moved the three of them to Japan to pursue their careers in material engineering. It was honestly kind of hard to believe it was all just gone, the house she’d known all her life, the few friends she’d manage to make and keep through grade and middle school, all gone with a single sentence and plane ride... She should have been more upset about that, but it hadn’t really set in yet, and to be honest? She was excited for the chance to be in a place where no one knew her.
Subways were still the same though, but somehow even more crowded with student and workers alike heading towards their daily schedules. Olivia idly glanced around, just listening to the voices around her and letting her brain filter the unfamiliar sounds through her last month’s worth of learning, piecing together sounds into words, words into sentences, and sentences into conversations. It was very important that she hammer her understanding of this language into her head so that when she eventually made it to the pro-leagues, she wouldn’t just be a clueless woman wondering what those around her were saying.
It was while she was looking around that something caught her eye, a face she recognized? She’d seen a lot of faces already, but none had stood out as familiar to her until just now, because how could they? She’d literally only lived her a month! Still, there was something about the girl she was looking at that seemed familiar, and she was also wearing a UA Uniform? “H-Hello..?” Olivia carefully moved her way around a few students into the small clearing in the train the other girl was standing near, and announced herself to the slightly shorter girl. “I feel like.. I’ve seen you.. before.. UA?” She knew she had to sound dumb practically sounding every word out as she spoke, but that was the only way she knew how to do it.
