The only shot I have of when a Starling got into our house yesterday since he kept hiding in that corner behind the curtain. He fell down the chimney, ended up under the gas fire (hole straight through to let the heat out, but it was off dw), then had to work his way out of the gap he'd found himself in, past the candles we have on the fireplace and then he flew straight for the window.
He was so scared, bless him 🥺 We managed to get the window open and he eventually figured his way out to the other side and flew out. Bloody terrifying tho, to have a bird suddenly fly at you (I was sat under the window) from underneath the fire (that got turned off bc the council are fucking stupid). We do sometimes hear bits that fall from the chimney that birds drop in, or if a bird lands on the chimney and it dislodges some dirt that then falls down, but I never once imagined a Starling would fit down there. A Sparrow maybe, but not a Starling.
Mum apparently heard something the other day, so the poor thing was probably stuck there for a while 🥺🥺
