Sun looked down at your sleeping frame in the dim light then glanced at the alarm clock on your side of the bed momentarily.
3:43AM looked back at him mockingly.
He slides a hand down his faceplate and groans. Although the blanket wasn't so much an important asset to his sleeping habits, it was hard to cuddle you properly with the fabric in between you two.
That and if he were to try to slip into said blanket, you would just kick him out of it again.
Sighs. What to do?
Sun tried to gently whisper your name. A click or two of his gears went by and…no response. Tch. It wasn't like he wanted to stir you awake forcefully. It was just… This had been going on for weeks ever since he lived with you and it was starting to make him cranky.
Perhaps he'd better try during proper morning hours.
–--------------------
“I… hog the blankets?”, you asked, incredulity slipping into your tone. The audacity you had really. Sun cleared his throat harshly. “Yes and quite frankly, it's getting on my nerves.”, he didn't bother to sugarcoat his feelings.
“Oh…” Ever perplexed, you chewed idly on your sandwich. Sun’s eye twitched, clearly bothered by the lack of sympathy. He didn't need the blanket, he needed your presence. “Well, I mean… I could get you your own blanket?”, you actually sounded so genuine, it made Sun want to hit his head against the wall.
“I want your body.”, Sun started, dropping all courtesies. You swallowed the bits of sandwich in your mouth hastily. “I beg your finest pardon?”, you replied, putting down the sandwich. You wanted to savor your simple meal but it seems that Sunny had different plans.
“You didn't let me finish.”, he answered smugly. A finger was lifted in slight protest before you put it down. He was right but if he wanted to keep talking, he would've done so which means he was just teasing you. A pout placed itself on your lips as you let him continue. “I want your body against me.”, he finished off.
You sputtered indignantly.
“That's hardly better!”, you slammed your hands on the table dramatically. Sun chuckles. The nerve. “I just want to hold you in my arms properly, love. Surely, that's not so hard to understand?”, Eclipse's voice merged into Sun’s. “S-Stay out of this!” Eclipse makes an air kiss gesture with Sun’s hand before letting Sun take over again.
“He’s not wrong.”, Sun stated, drumming his fingers coyly against the table with Moon’s hand. Your face darkened in hue. “You're convincing me to separate our rooms…”, you stated, half joking and half serious. Sun's slanted gaze doesn't escape your notice.
It was meant to be sharp and menacing. A “you wouldn't dare” gesture. Hmph! Then, he shouldn't tease you so much. Sun looks over at the clock and plainly says, “After you're done with that, we're going to practice.” You did a double take. “Practice??” Sun only nodded and took the dishes that were empty and got to work washing them.
Part of you wanted to finish your meal as excruciatingly slow as possible but that wouldn't bode well with Mr Sunny. Not when he was determined to get his results… Ugh, fine. We'll play nice. Just this once.
–--------------------
With the dishes and laundry being done, you stay obediently on the bed, waiting for him to come back to the room.
You finally took a shower earlier too and were in your comfiest pajamas. There was also no work today so you had the rest of the afternoon to just snooze or do things with the daycare attendants like watching movies, sorting out puzzles or going out to the grocery shops.
Anything involving outside activities was a no-go though since Sun wanted to train you as soon as possible. It was ridiculous really. So what if you were a blanket hogger… The sound of the door opened and you nearly jumped out of your own skin.
“A mini heart attack is good once in a while.”, Sun laughed while closing the door.
You gave him a deadpan look.
“So like … how do I train for this?”, you inquired, resorting to sitting cross-legged after kneeling for so long in your nervousness. Sun strode over to the bed and plopped onto it, the bed dipping slightly with his weight. “Get on top of me.”, he commanded.
Silence ensued.
“...I would use a dífferent phrasing but I'm afraid I've run out of patience.”, he said plainly. Your lips tightened and you tried to wrap your head around his intentions. Sure, you were both dating and such activities weren't exactly not normal for couples to do but… you oblige anyways. Carefully straddling him, you wait for the next command.
“Now, lay down please.”, he opened his arms, ready to hold you. Oh, suddenly he remembered his manners! You do as he instructed and shyly tucked your face into the crook of his neck. Then, the subtle warmth that seeped through your clothes was amped up just a bit and melted your worries.
A relieved sigh was let out and you nuzzled further into his neck. Sun wrapped his arms around your waist and hummed, “This is better.”, clearly happy with how it ended up. You in his arms and no fabric in between. He eyed the offending blanket in the corner of his eye but closed his eyes in favour of savouring your presence. Utter bliss.
But oh the tranquilíty was disrupted by a giggle.
A very cute giggle.
“Gee, I didn't think you were the cuddly type, Sunny.”, you teased, lifting your face slightly to face him. Bugger. “I will neither confirm nor deny.”, he rubbed tender círcles on your hips absentmindedly. “Mm…and yet here you are.”, you replied softly. Darn it. That expression was going to be the death of him.
You were swiftly dealt with a sudden kiss.
??????????
“I guess I am.”, he took the time to caress your lips before settling back on the bed. “And you better stop being so cute or I'll punish you.”, he added as an afterthought. “It's… it's not like I do it on purpose??”, you reasoned. No, he supposed you didn't. “I don't have an argument for that.”, he replied.
He definitely did but right now, you in his arms and the rays of the light trickling in through the window were his only concerns that day.
After a really really long time of debating on what to write for my blog. I'm finally putting out this short Liam Mairi HC. This is the first time I'm putting something out there, so I'm a little nervous even though it's just a small HC. I have a few actual pieces in the works, but for now hopeful you guys on the Fourth Wing side of this site enjoy this.
Disclaimer: This was thrown together super fast. I just wanted to put something out there to get past the hump of being scared to publish something. I apologize for any mistakes in lore and any grammatical errors.
xo starrie
Liam and you had met on Conscription Day, a similar meeting to Violet and Rhiannon’s. Like Violet, you had been forced by your parents to enter the Riders Quadrant to continue the family’s long line of riders. To say you were scared shitless was an understatement.
He had been behind you in line and had noticed your shaking hands as the two of you neared the Parapet. Being that golden retriever boy, he reached out and comforted you, and the rest was history.
Liam was grateful when you had been placed under Xaden and Garrick’s leadership. The two of you were inseparable, but due to the difference in sections he had asked his friends to keep an eye over you when he couldn’t be there.
And keep an eye over you they did. Xaden was the first to notice the way your cheeks rivaled the red scales of Deigh. Bodhi and Garrick loved to ruffle Liam’s feathers by placing their arms around your shoulders. Even Imogen had grown fond of you and took you under her wing during training. Liam was their family, and it was clear to them that Liam saw you more than just a friend.
The Marked Ones weren’t the only ones to notice either; your squad mates were just as bad with the teasing. Ridoc and Sawyer loved to tease Liam about you during lectures. Their favorite way of making him jealous, was squeezing to sit between the two of you during lectures or taking the extra time to train with you during sparring lessons.
For some reason everyone found it extremely amusing when Liam’s puppy like expressions turned murderous due to the jealously that formed when it came to you.
Violet and Rhiannon often shared knowing looks whenever a carved wooden figurine appeared on your pillow. Liam gifted everyone wooden trinkets, but everyone knew that you received the most. The carvings ranged from your childhood pet to your dragon.
While your bunk had become a menagerie of wooden figures, Liam’s had turned into a mini garden. Basgiath didn’t have gardens, but you had spotted a few patches of wildflowers during flight training. For every figurine that Liam had carved, you had picked a small bunch of flowers to happily reciprocate the gift.
The teasing you got from your dragon was the worst. Ever since Threshing, she had picked up on the forming bond between you and Liam. Her comments ranged from innocent observations to absolute filth that made your whole body blush. Oh look Liam left you another gift. Your Liam is staring at you again. Stop staring at him and kiss him already. For fucks sake human shove him in a room and fuck him already.
You weren’t sure if Deigh had been teasing Liam like your dragon had been teasing you, but after an intense sparring session which felt like some sort of foreplay you actually listened and grabbed his shirt and kissed him. Right on the sparring mats, with everyone in the Fourth Wing grinning like fools.
Before you started dating the two of you were inseparable, but now the two of you were basically melded at the hip. If your bunk was empty during the night, everyone knew to check Liam’s to find you, vice versa. The sight of you and Liam holding hands and making out had become a regular thing to see in the Riders Quadrant.
No one even questioned it when the two of you came out from behind an empty classroom door or closet with tousled hair and flushed expressions.
At least you didn’t wake everyone up with thunderstorms in the middle of the night.

Who would've known… and who would've thought you'd make it through? Kudos to you!
Though it's a shame your old family wasn't able to join you on the day itself. A small prick at your heart made itself known over that fact.
Hm.
It's fine…or at least that's what you've told yourself since this all started anyways…
Shaking your head to rid yourself of the negative spiral that was bound to spill over the brim, you speedily straightened your tie and adjusted your cap. Then, looking into the mirror with a tight smile, you deemed yourself suitable for society. “Phew. O-kay. Nice thoughts. Nice thoughts…”, you muttered to yourself as you exited the bathroom, preparing a quick breakfast with some of your favourite cereal and some beverage of choice. Maybe orange juice? “Nah, that'd just be…”, you shivered, not wanting the taste of orange and toothpaste being combined. “Maybe some apple juice then!”, you switched fruit tactics and went with the safer option.
You poured some into a cup and chugged it down in one go. Ah, refreshing! “I'm going now.”, you whisper yelled to your plushies in your room. Imagining that they were saying, “See you again soon!”, you hurried down the stairs and took off to the pizzaplex.
----------------------------------
The constant buzz of people was enough to snap you out of your metaphorical funk as you weaved through the crowd to get to the backstage area. Placing your card against the clock card machine, you whispered a, “Hi Helpy.” before heading to the security office. So far, you've already made the arrangements and got your graduation robes ready, went through rehearsal… Absent-mindedly, you drew on your notepad in thought. And everything went well - as expected.
Nothing out of the ordinary except for yourself tripping a couple of steps during the practice walk. Shivers went down your spine as you remembered how you wanted to run off the stage and crawl into a hole somewhere to die of embarrassment alone. You thought better of it though and strided with what was left of your confidence. Mistakes happened, it wasn't that big of a deal… A mantra you repeated in your head as to avert the internal crisis.
“It's whatever.”, you sniffed indignantly. Yep. That's what you told yourself anyways. Your friends were quick to tease but then stopped once they noticed how stiff and awkward you seemed. “Hey, tomorrow's gonna be alright.”, “Better to mess up today than tomorrow!”, “We're right there with you…”s were thrown around immediately. “Thanks guys…”, was your lukewarm response. Perhaps you were just nervous. No. More like terrified.
Graduation Day was tomorrow.
Like seriously? Who allowed this to happen? And why?
Ugh.
You swiped a hand over your face in frustration.
To others, it's a day of celebration.
To you….
It felt complicated.
On one hand, you were labeled as someone who had accomplished their studies to the fullest. On the other, you were dreading the day as it was a blatant sign that you were on your own now. Like literally on your own now.
It still didn't feel real.
The responsibilities weighed upon you like a stack of bricks. Of course it was easier to ignore when you previously had lots of assignments to attend to…but the crushing and daunting reality that you truly were going to be on your own was never easy. “What comes next? You've been freed… Do you know how hard it is to lead?”, a voice sang in your ears. Man. This was bogus. Who in their right mind decided that it was all over already?
No more late nights spent doing homework. No more breakdowns after having several cups of energy drinks. No more lecturers disappointing you. It felt so surreal. And weird. And scary. It just…felt so normal at one point. A routine, if you will. Something that burdened yet relieved you. Sighs. This was never going to be easier, huh? Letting go seemed to be the worst of your troubles.
Flipping through the cameras to check in on your surroundings, you aimlessly did that for another two hours before heading out to do some patrolling. Walking might do you some good. Yep. Walking. Good. Thinking? Bad. So you shut off your mind for a bit to mingle with some of the regulars, asking them how they're doing and such. Some replies were vague while others were oddly specific. Varying degrees of good, bad and so-so. People living regular lives…people with a purpose walking through here like it's nobody's business.
No, wait. Nobody has life really figured out. They're just going through the motions. Just like you were. Sighsss. You just wanted the day to be over so you could get the graduation thing out of sight and out of mind forever already. You still had yet to reply to some of the juniors who had wanted to wish you congratulations too. It was sweet of them but you weren't in the right state of mind to reply yet.
----------------------------------
Pulling your weight around some more, you ended up wandering about for the whole day until 10pm, the automated announcement chiming in on time as always to announce that the pizzaplex was closing. Your final destination, “Kids Cove”, akin to a beacon of light for your lost ship. Home. Or well, your second home but you digressed.
All of the kids went home already, including the main kids - Hannah, Charlie, Colten, Cassie and Gregory. You were able to wave goodbye to them before they exited the area and it honestly cheered you up a little. Making your way to the gates, you adjusted your tie and recapped your head to make yourself more presentable.
One of the gates was opened just a tad to let blue fingers creep out of them before Eclipse’s faceplate showed up through the crack. A change of mood was visible as he then opened it fully to let you in. “My Angel-Eyes has arrived!”, he announced, happy to see you. Your face darkened in hue as you shushed him. “Okay, okay pipe your voice down!”, you closed your hands over his permanent smile.
“Oops. Right. Working hours.”, he reminded himself as he made a small kiss sound towards your hands, holding them steady with his own hands before giving them back to you. “A-As long as you understand.”, you stuttered, rubbing your nape nervously. With the daycare silent and unmoving without the kids, you welcomed yourself into their domain.
With a tilt of his head, he studied you intently for any signs of distress or ailment. Hm… Heartbeat spikes were present, perhaps due to his earlier actions or… “Moussecake… Is there perhaps something on your mind?”, he inquired slowly, gauging your reaction attentively. You blinked before turning around and biting your lips while casting your eyes towards your socks. Suddenly very timid. Double hm.
“I'm…”, you maintained your distance as you continued with a, “...worried.”, finally finding the courage to look Eclipse in the eyes again. While this distance was minimally harmless, you knew it was a habit you were actively trying to curb when you were upset. He excused that thought for now and went nearer into your bubble. Then, he uttered your name softly, coaxing you to let down your walls.
“We love you.”, he confessed. “And whatever you're worried about… we can fight it together.”, he offered. The tear that slipped from your left eye was not welcomed and very, very unexpected. His kindness in caring for you was also genuinely so touching. “Ugh…”, you groaned, feeling the tears running down your cheeks more rampantly now. As you cried, Eclipse calmly wiped away your tears and placed kisses where they ended.
“Shh… it's okay. Just cry. We've got you.”, he gently whispered, continuing the motions. “I'm just-”, you hiccuped before saying, “I'm graduating but I don't feel happy at all!” into his chassis. His arms wrapped around you now and his hands busied themselves with rubbing your back soothingly. “Why is that?”, he asked bluntly. “Because… because…”, you wailed at this point and he quickly smushed you against him further.
“Because I feel like I don't deserve it.”, you sobbed. “Sweetheart.”, you and I both know you deserve to graduate.”, he counter argued, forgoing the earlier rules. “But I! But I - I've done so much yet I'm never satisfied and - and I feel like redoing everything and I -”, you said in quick syllables, your breath choking up on itself as you felt your throat seize from the force of your sobs. At this point, he assessed that you were going to have a panic attack so he summoned the hook and promptly brought you to their bedroom.
You sniffled the whole way but quietened down somewhat after the shock wore off. “Please wait here. I'm going to get Alfredo.”, he rubbed a thumb under your eye before slinking off to find Head Chef Bot. You wrapped the blanket he kept up here around yourself and waited patiently. Not even 10 minutes passed by before you heard the jingle of his shoes at the entrance.
Alfredo walked in first, pushing back the curtains that hid this room. Then, he sprinted towards you when he noticed that your face was puffy with tear stained cheeks. Frantically, he signed if you were okay. “Yes, yes, I'm okay, Alfie.”, you tried to ease his worries to no avail. “Well, better now that you're here.”, you added with a lopsided smile. He pat your head afterwards. After a heartbeat or two, he signed, “Want to cuddle?” and you couldn't reject such an earnest request.
“I… that would be lovely, Alfie. Please do.”, you shyly accepted. With a hesitation of his own, he carefully stepped over you and took your left side to lay down on. The makeshift bed rustled as you made yourself comfy as well. Eclipse was still busy rummaging through his cubbies to get some snacks and water bottles for you but once he was settled on what to give you, he promptly joined and layed down on your right side. Afterwards, the boys each laid an arm around you.
“Comfy?”, Eclipse asked, subtly checking on your temperature. “Very.”, you sighed, melting in their embrace. “Good, good.”, he said while rubbing your tummy gently. “Now then, what else is bothering you?”, he settled his hand back on your left hip. “I … I don't wanna see certain individuals there.”, you spoke plainly, reminiscing on the teammates that inevitably disappointed you in group projects and the lecturers who lost your respect.
“That's understandable. From what we remember, you deeply detested some of these people.”, Eclipse whispered. “And hate is a strong word…”, you started, scrunching your eyebrows. “That and I hate despising people. It's not… it's not in my nature.”, you shifted a bit in their hold. “I also hate the extra baggage it gives me.”, you added for emphasis. “Oh darling dearest… you'll do just fine.”, he commented. “Besides, you won't ever have to see them ever again after this.”, he continued, the statement more of comfort than it was a fact.
Yet they haunt your nightmares.
But you decided not to divulge that info to him.
“Okay, okay… I'll believe in you this time.”, you rolled your eyes before giving him a small and exasperated grin. “Good girl.”, his voice lilted, patting your hip again. Then, Alfredo nuzzled your neck and you welcomed it, patting the side of his face tenderly. “Thanks boys… I really, really appreciate that you guys comforted me.”, you said honestly, bringing their faces closer to nuzzle into. The boys hummed happily and nuzzled back.
“Now, rest up. We'll let you go home soon.”, Eclipse promised while Alfredo nodded in agreement. “Okay, okay… I'm gonna rest my eyes for a bit then.”, you blew a raspberry before settling further into the cuddlefest. Both bots responded by hugging you tighter and the sound of their gears turning lulled you into a deep sleep.
Tomorrow will be fine.
You'll be fine, Starlight.
What mattered most was that your efforts were recognised and that they would love you with all their gears and wires regardless.
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Summary : "Good things come to those who wait" was an understatement but the Star has a long and arduous path ahead of her. A certain gator lends a hesitant hand and she finds that there are still many things to contemplate - Was it love, friendship or something beyond those? So many questions, too few answers but time passes and the Eclipse shadows her once more.
Usual tw : existential crises, painfully awkward confessions, poly-curiousity … will update more later if I see anything else!
Had writers block again but I pushed through by writing mini sentences and piecing stuff together last minute. It's also not my usual style of writing but I didn't wanna constrict myself too much since this is just a fun project.
As always, plsplspls leave a comment on how I did for this chapter (or any of the chaps / dissect the fic as you like) <333 /aff

-------------------------------------
Late night cramming probably wasn't the best idea, especially when you had been going at it for nearly a week.
Additionally, you were sure your veins were filled with more than 75% caffeine by now. Although you were sort of immune to it, never knew why, the effects were slightly subdued in your body after some time… the shakiness in your hands and your eyes beginning to swim were about the only things that happened when you consumed so much of the substance anyways.
Energy drinks, coffee, even going so far as purchasing some coffee candy when you ran out or just needed something to gnaw on while you postponed your inevitable breakdown, you tried your best to focus on the material you needed to study. Not that it was that difficult considering it just talked about the basics of art and the history, which you were super interested in - it was just…
You probably repeated the stuff in your head a bazillion times and the hyperfixation bug was most likely contemplating a quick vacation again which was bad. Super bad. You didn't have time to not think about your studies. Sure, you wanted to drop everything right now and draw to your hearts content but you had to wait.
All good things come to those who wait.
Whoever wrote that could put a sock in em’ for a little while actually… Rubbing your eyes momentarily, perhaps it would be best to turn in for the night. You still had work as well anyways. Ugh. Whatever.
—--------------------------------------
You ended up coming in late and may or may not have ran a red light by accident. It's not like you could've stopped if you wanted to get stuck in the yellow box anyways! So, you could only offer an apology to the other drivers and God. It'd be funny if you weren't on the brink of tears with how stressed you were.
The pulsing headache persisted even when you finally registered yourself at the clock card machine. Helpy gave a disapproving shake of his head while clicking his tongue. “Better be punctual next time!”, he scolded lightly. “Overtime has been issued immediately.”, he added and your shoulders sagged with dread while you let out the most dramatic sigh ever.
It was expected and yet still disappointing all the same.
Trudging onwards to your usual patrol places, you waved at the S.T.A.F.F bots and people that recognised you. Oftentimes, you had to give directions and dodge some unsavoury comments. Unsavoury in terms of random people trying to flirt with you. Yep. there were times you contemplated why people would even want to flirt with the security guard out of everyone.
Like seriously?
You brushed them off politely though with a “thank you” and that you were busy with work right now. Some looked dejected while others shrugged with a wink saying, “Your loss.” and you couldn't help but giggle a bit at the good natured gesture. Nice to see that some took it like a champ. Continuing with your patrol, you also spotted some of your animatronic coworkers and exchanged some pleasantries before you all continued with your duties.
Today was just one of those days after all - busy, busy, busy!
You briefly wondered if Head Chef Bot was having chaos in his kitchen for lunch rush. That startled a laugh out of you before you piped down and tugged your hat downwards in embarrassment. Quickly jogging out of the place you were in, possibly somewhere near the laser tag arena, you retreated to the backstage area. Maybe chilling in the office would suffice…
Getting in some more studying on your laptop, you summarised it in your online notes, equipped with different fonts, stickers, highlights and the like. It was fun at least to be more creative in other ways. An outlet of sorts while your actual drawing skills were put in the back burner, quietly stewing as the days have been passing by speedily.
Pausing a bit to nurse the ongoing headache by drinking some much needed water, you flipped through the cameras, surveying the other areas in the pizzaplex. Hmmm. You scrutinized every view as best as you could with your limited vision. Okay, nothing weird or of concern at least, phew.
Munching on some snacks you brought into the office idly, you contacted some of your college friends to see how their progress was going and all of them answered with various degrees of lukewarm enthusiasm or was it sarcasm? Oh well, you didn't fault them for that. Finals will do that to you.
You mentioned a quick, “Hang in there, y'all” before switching off your phone to continue studying…..
—--------------------------------------
10PM.
By God, your eyes were beyond sore. Not even rubbing or blinking them helped to alleviate the pain. Yikes.
You were going to receive a mouthful from a certain daycare attendant after this…. Sighs.
To be honest, you were avoiding that place all day due to that. You knew it was out of genuine care and such but it did get kind of overbearing sometimes. Though you did feel slightly guilty for not hanging out with them recently… and the last time, they missed you too much, well, you paid for it severely.
You could feel your back hurting, just thinking about it.
N-not in that way, by the way! They tended to rough you up a little, that's - Okay, not the point and not how you wanted to word it so you gave up on explaining.
Shaking your head, you lifted yourself from the swivel chair and stretched. With the cracks of your bones loosening your limbs, you brought your sorry behind to Kids Cove. Ack. With how you probably looked by now, you knew the fussing was going to generally be bad.
Let's hope it doesn't get too much.
Pushing the gates open, you let yourself into the daycare. By now, the boys didn't mind that you tended to more or less intrude whenever you wanted. Most of the kids had gone home by now but as per usual, the late goers were either doing homework or getting the last of their playtimes. Eclipse however, was present and busy cleaning up what he could from the floors and playground area, not giving any greeting when you entered.
Possibly too caught up in cleaning then. Sneaking up behind him, you tapped his shoulder and grinned at him. “Hey, Clippy.” Eclipse took a moment to register your presence before dropping what he was doing and scooping you into his arms. “Whoa!”, you exclaimed as he spun you around.
“Angel-Eyes! Am I happy to see you!” To that, your face darkened in hue before you shushed him furiously. “N-Not in front of the kids!”, you stammered. He quietened down before whispering, “And boy, do we have lots to do~”, a cheeky grin evident in his tone. You playfully punched him several times for that as he laughed into your neck.
“Let's wait until the kids go home before we have fun, yes?”, he continued, pinching the bridge of your nose. “Ow! But Clippy, I-”, he puts you down gently before patting your body for inspection. Whatever he tried to find or didn't find had him in a better spirit all of a sudden. “You don't seem to be hurt or anything…”, he started before delving into a more serious tone. “But you do look tired.”, his red eye glowed menacingly.
Moon was clearly displeased that you hadn't rested enough.
“Mm…sorry, my love.”, you whispered shyly. “As long as you mean it.”, Moon’s voice interjected on cue, rubbing the skin under your eyes gently with his thumbs. Eclipse planted a soft kiss on your forehead before he was summoned by one of the late goers. “Duty calls!”, so he said before taking off. You shook your head and chuffed fondly. What a dork… an adorable dork though.
Welp, you could spend your time winding down by searching for hazards in the daycare. While exploring, you stumbled upon some misplaced plushies, a Monty-themed watch and some candy wrappers strewn about randomly. Phew! What a mess… Still can't imagine how hard it was to be a daycare attendant but then again your boyfriends did complain from time to time so you more or less got the image.
Wrapping it up swíftly, you returned to the staff counter, leaning against it. You didn't feel like playing with your phone so you zoned out instead. It was calming, tranquil for a bit and probably good for your retinas at the moment. Waving goodbye to the last kid, Eclipse put in the door bar and giddily skipped in your direction. Bringing yourself back from the zone™, you smiled at him with waiting arms, opened to receive him in a good ol’ hug.
A hug that was a tad soul-crushing but welcomed nonetheless.
“Babe…babe! You're kinda squeezing the heck outta me-”, you wheezed, patting his back several times. “Oops, sorry!”, he loosened his grip and dipped you instead. “Is this better?”, Eclipse asked, holding back his chuckles poorly. “Not like that!”, you laughed as he tickled your sides. You squealed under his touch and flapped your arms uselessly. Then, he gently pushed his faceplate against yours, metaphorically taking some of that laughter for his own.
“Mm-! M-Me-her-cy hahaha-”, you cackled, pushing at his chassis. He lets up and eventually you slump against him. He pets your head while rubbing his hand up and down your spine delicately. “Poor thing…” You punched him lightly again before kissing his chassis.
“Hate to admit it but I needed that.” Eclipse rubbed his nose shyly. “Ahem, well.”, proud as he was with the comment, he got caught off guard by that move. “Who's teaching you such frivolous moves, sweetness?”, he teased. “Oh, I don't know … a certain daycare attendant here maybe.”, you replied, batting your eyelashes innocently while letting your fingers tread lightly on his chassis.
“Am I a bad influence?”, he said in mock surprise while lifting your chin upwards. “Very.” You both shared another kiss before he hoisted you into his arms once more. “Good. Cuz’ I'm not done with you yet.”, he suddenly announced with no remorse. The hook was summoned and then you were brought up to ceiling heights and swiftly relocated to their room.
Thankfully, you weren't dropped a million miles off the ground but you clung to him regardless. The room hadn't changed much except for the many pictures hung on the wall. Various paintings and sketches of the daycare attendants were put on display but your attention was quickly rearranged towards the makeshift bed they had.
They weren't thinking of putting you to sleep, were they?
You had finals to study for - Blast it! They have been distracting you for a good hour now… “W-Wait, Eclipse - I have to go home and study!”, you stuttered, flailing your arms again to escape. Escape? Where to? He was your only exit. Ackkkkkk!!!! Whyyyyyyy was this happening to youuuu??? Eclipse paid no mind to your pleas and settled for laying you onto the bed. Something about seeing you move frantically was kind of amusing to him. Always had been.
For now, he gathered up the pillows and blankets to make yourself extra comfortable. “Clipppyyy-”, your whining was also cute but he had a reason to be doing this. “Trust me. This is for your own good, Angel-Eyes.” Wrapping the blanket around you, he sat you upright while he sat across from you. “Now, tell. Me. The. Truth” Uh oh. You thought you were off the hook… Welp.
You let out a disgruntled groan. “How long?”, straight to the point with no cut corners. “A week…?”, you said through clenched teeth, shoulders hiking up to your ears as you braced yourself for the inevitable scolding. “Hm.”, he hummed, processing the levels of audacity you had displayed. “How many drinks?” Another groan. Sun’s voice cut in, “Spill it.” commandingly.
“Maybe six or seven? I-I don't know! I wasn't exactly keeping count…”, your tone was exasperated and you fought the urge to throw a tantrum. Eclipse lets out a long sigh. A rare sight or moment if anything. He finally lets out another word and it was a stern saying of your name. Your actual full name. Gulp. “We have discussed this. It is detrimental to your health.” Lowkey wished you weren't getting nagged right now…
Your face scrunched into a guilty expression. He was right though, wasn't he? Anndddd there’s the existential crisis hurtling in at the speed of light. What was it all for? You weren't even that confident in your subjects nor were you exceptionally good at all of them and - Eclipse’s sensors went off and he quickly hugged you to snap you out of it. Inhaling like you had been submerged into cold water, you held onto him tightly.
After that, came the tears and you outright bawled into his chassis. Okay, definitely needed that for sure. He subtly shushed and patted you until you calmed down enough into sniffles and the likes. Eyes puffy for another reason but you finally felt loose enough to actually feel human again. It was really good to be human again. “There, there, Starlight…”, Moon’s voice checked in momentarily. “Thank you, boys.”, you whispered hoarsely, voice a little cracked from the fatigue.
Eclipse then laid you down into the bed properly and embraced you fully. “Rest, you deserve it.” You wanted to argue but a yawn disrupted you. It was too comfy… “Or…”, he puts a hand under the hem of your shirt and idly massaged your tummy. “Did you want to play after all…?”, his hand gives another squeeze as you let out an undignified squeak.
“I-I-I Um- I’m good!”, you squawked, batting at his offending hand. “You better be.”, he said with a finality to his tone. Yep, no getting out of this one. “Fine! I'll rest, I'll…”, you agreed as your eyes began to close involuntarily before passing out promptly. Ah. Eclipse stifled his laughter into your hat to which he gently took off and pulled your tie down so you didn't suffocate in your sleep.
Beautiful. Captivating. Wonderful.
Yet too hardworking and harsh on yourself.
Sure, you had been issued overtime but that was a small matter for now. Hopefully, you’ll pass and what mattered the most was that you tried your best.
They'll still love you with all their gears and wires after all.
Notes : This is like SUPER touchy but like it's safe context-ish XDD that and I wrote this when I was going in and out of my sickness like this is on the verge of slipping in and outta consciousness type of writing okay so ya pls bear that in mind - might be incoherent but it's fluffy and sweet - okay go read 👍🏻✨
Summary : Just Eclipse being gentle with you.
----------------------------------
Eclipse was rarely gentle.
Not that he was a rough and tough sort of guy in the first place.
He just hardly took his time in showering his affections. This could range from an instant kiss on the nape whenever he felt like it, a hand on your waist while you talked about your day and some days, sneaky hands that trailed wherever they could, just to feel you with haste, desperate even to explore your skin.
You would think he would tire of it eventually…but he shows no such sign. If anything, they increase more whenever you ask for it albeit embarrassed out of your wits at requesting such a thing. Though, you were always grateful when he asks first before proceeding further with his touches. A concerned, “Is this too much?”, here and there, “Is this okay?”, it made your heart melt when his initial flirtiness became gentle worries instead.
“I love you, you know you can tell me if you don't like something.”, Eclipse's voice whispers above your ear, his large hand settling comfortably on your tummy. You gulp down nervously. “I love you too and no, I'm okay. Thanks for asking.”, you reply, putting your hands on said hand to comfort him. “Well, in that case -”, he slyly changes his tone, gripping slightly tighter to press you against him further.
Your back meets his chassis ever closer and you listen intently to the clicks and clacks of his gears turning. It's warm. It always is when you both were cuddling. He always adjusts according to your temperature’s needs. “Hey, Clippy?” Another kiss was pressed against your nape. “Yes, Angel-Eyes?”, he answers almost sleepily. “Do you ever…”, you bite your tongue consciously as he waits for your question. “Do you um. Do you ever feel tired of touching me?”, you ask shyly, your temperature skyrocketing below his hand.
“Want me to be honest?” A shudder courses through you. “You always are.”, you accuse him, an incredulous smile etched on your lips. “Hm… is that so?”, he feigns innocence. You smack his shoulder playfully. “Alright, alright!”, he chuckles, lapsing into a thoughtful silence.
“...I just love the feeling of your skin.”, he answers earnestly. “It's soft, squishy, different from our metal.”, he continues, his hands already exploring the expanse of your upper front body, lovingly tracing it downwards, eliciting shivers to go down your spine. “It's fascinating. It's smooth but not like metal smooth. Fleshy smooth. Pleasant.”, he kisses your shoulder. “I could touch it forever if you permit it.”, he whispers, like a promise.
“U-Um well…”, you hold his hands from going further, skin darkening in hue. You didn't expect such an honest review that was devoid of the usual flirtiness. Somehow, it flustered you even more. “Besides…”, his voice lowers. “You make such interesting sounds when I touch you. Even your heartbeat becomes a song I can't quite resist listening to.” Annddddd the usual flirtiness is back! You clicked your tongue in distaste, lightly slapping his hands.
“So much for my faith in you.”, you playfully scolded. His hands remain undeterred and stay on your tummy again. “Pretty thing, why must you hurt me so?”, he pouts. “You wanted honesty, did you not?” Rolling your eyes, you turn to face him in his hold. “Mm. I did ask for it… The ending just kinda threw me off.”, you replied. “I'm used to playing plottwists, sweetness. Pardon that side of me.” Your eyes softened at that. “Right.”, you offer as you snuggle up to him.
“This isn't a play though. It's real.”, you reassure him. Stunned silence follows before he kisses your forehead. “That's right. A dream come true.”, he happily sighs. You giggle into his ruffles and pat at his shoulders, flustered to the nines again. How does he do that? His eyes upturned at your meek expression and he caresses your cheek softly.
“We just can't get enough of you.”, he continues, a hand gripping a thigh intently. “Your skin is akin to a canvas we wish to lay traces of us.”, his voice had gone low again, a pleasant rumble against your own chest. “We wished that your heartbeat was for us and us alone. Every beat promising your love for us…”, he kisses your brow affectionately. At this point, your temperature was simmering.
You really did ask for it…
“I do.”, you reaffirmed and his own gears turned, happy at that confirmation. “I'm delighted to know that, petal.”, Sun’s voice slips in a little more honestly. You grin at that. “So you're that in love with me?”, you teased. His reply is slow, calculative. “Always. In fact, we could show it right now…”, Moon's static takes hold of the voice box.
“How?”, curiosity settling in as per usual. They always knew how to bait you. “Precious Starlight…”, Eclipse whispers, slowly getting up to tower over you. “We'll be gentle, promise.”, he continues, a cheeky lilt in his voice. “...okay.”, you relented, relaxing your body further to accept whatever he had in mind.
Eclipse was rarely gentle but at that moment, it's all he ever was as he showed you how much he loved you.
The End.
