5. what was the first fanfic you ever read?

oh man, i actually have no idea? i know for sure it was on ff.net, but i couldn't tell you what it was!

10. what is an act of kindness you have never forgotten?

@sluttyhenley saw me caught in the middle of some absolutely insane friend group drama and rather than steering clear (which i would not have begrudged at all!) got dinner with me, heard my side of things, and promptly stuck it out with me. that decision single-handedly changed the course of what had been a miserable fucking year of college. she will absolutely hate me for talking about it on main because she's allergic to feelings, but i am eternally grateful for that dinner <3

26. what’s an achievement big or small that you’re really proud of?

i've already been painfully earnest in this post, so the goofy answer is: i'm actually really proud that i managed to platinum elden ring even though it was my first souls game and i had No Idea what the fuck i was doing when i started playing it!

wedding date & [redacted]!

ok the wedding date is the pitt. and i blame shawn hatosy for it. and i have so many ideas for it, like all the other wips that are languishing in purgatory. but like. a wedding is such a good situation to put the Characters ™ in. especially when one of those characters prefers to use his medical skills to flirt. you can't do that a wedding! (well i suppose you could in the event of an emergency but that's not happening at this wedding)

It's that same professionalism that's telling her to laugh it off. He doesn't need to know about her cousin's wedding, or the passive aggressive remark about Samira's lack of a personal life. But experience tells her that Dr. Abbot won't let her laugh him off. Experience also tells her it's a better idea to get her frustration off her chest instead of bottling it up until it explodes.

"My cousin's getting married this summer," she tells him, sitting down at the table where he isn't sitting. It's nothing really; people's relatives get married all the time. "I love her, I really do, but why did she have to assume that I wouldn't have a date." She pauses for a breath; it's not long enough to reconsider spilling her family drama to Abbott. "I know I don't have a life outside of work. Everyone knows that. That doesn't mean she can just make assumptions!"

Across the table, Abbott is silent. To his credit, he doesn't look overwhelmed. He has that look he gets when he's working on a gnarly problem. It makes Samira more nervous than he does when he's on the floor.

"So you want a date?" Abbott is looking at her. There's a little wrinkle between his eyebrows like she's the problem he's trying to figure out.

"No!" Samira pauses. "I don't know. I just… wish I could prove her wrong I guess."

Meanwhile, redacted is well... the original fiction. Fueled by spite and the very big cliff i fully flung myself off of last fall after sort of lingering on the edge of it last spring. after 12ish years of resisting here i am in the trenches. a hockey fan. a fucking flyers fan. because i love pain and suffering. yay! and after 12 years i finally have firsthand experience of all the secondhand knowledge @redbelles has been inflicting on me. so i kind of fast-tracked all that. and i'm sitting here like a) i do actually know what i'm talking about broadly re: hockey and b) there is not nearly enough goalie love out there and c) every time the choice arises i will go the problematic route. and thus, a novel was born. i'm shocked. you're shocked. anyone who knows me and learns about this project is shocked (i have coworkers who know me for my hockey opinions/knowledge) anyway!!!

New York was making an all out effort deep in the Minnesota zone and Nicole, Nic to her friends and teammates, didn't have a single bit of attention left for anything that wasn't happening on the ice. For twenty more minutes, she was dialed into protecting her crease.

If they won this game, Minnesota's spot in the playoffs was guaranteed. They would be the first playoffs of Nic's young career. Kayleigh McCormack, New York's star forward, got the puck, wound up for an all-timer, and slammed the puck into the net just behind Nic's left shoulder.

The goal horn sounded in the arena, loud enough to deafen.

Nic looked up at the Jumbotron and watched the replay. She'd brought her elbow up too slow. She grimaced. It was a good shot but not unstoppable. If Nic had just been a little faster.

I. What is the crackiest* thing you’ve ever written? (*I mean this with great affection) — i made ponyboy batman lmfao? i have "nocturnal animals" but i haven't finished it. outside of that i'm not sure.

IX. The two fandoms you’ve written the most have been suddenly crossed with each other! What AU are you writing? — well i already have gothamverse and nocturnal animals! if i had to come up with something new off the top of my dome though, it'd be batpony investigating something while about to have a run in with daredevil!dallas

XXIV. What colors, sights, sounds, textures, etc. inspire you? Do certain environments make you feel more creative than others? — i tend to listen to a lot of media, watch a lot of movies. almost anything can spark up an idea in me, just depends on my mood. i love putting blorbos in Situations lmfao. i certainly like driving on an open road because it gives me time to work out writing kinks.

Someone you know outside of fandom has heard that you’re a writer. “I’d like to read something of yours!” they say with sincere enthusiasm. “Where can I find it?” What’s your answer? — "no thank you :)" but if they're a fandom friend already i'd probably prod about their tastes before i'd link my ao3. i can't stand omegaverse haters or people who are Uptight about fic.
