Crackfic Alert! - The Archives is up on Ao3

Utter bat-shit crack fic ahead! Gentle reader, please excuse my insanity and if you are willing, and don't cringe too hard, please enjoy The Archives

This was inspired by Neral's Legacy  a post by @wafflingchemist which was so brilliant, I decided to make a fic about it (with their permission) I have no idea if I am going to keep running with this one or if I will shamefully bury it in my back yard. Either way, this is my personal love letter to everyone who writes fanfiction, everyone who supports other fanfic writers, and special extra bit of love for my Romulan Fanfic authors. You know who you are and I adore you :-)

I won't tag everyone cause I am sure some people would be horrified to be tagged on this. LOL. But here are my usual suspects. If you wish to be tagged going forward, for any of my fics, please do let me know. Reviews and comments are worshiped and adored. Thank you!

Hey so I was going to reblog a post from someone who might be a little confused about the fact that Star Trek has time travel/alternative universes/techno medical magic, so literally anything is possible if you want it to be, especially in fanfic. But I wasn't finished and my pocket sent it. So I am sending a different ask instead because I just felt like I needed to tell you separately how excited I am that you are writing a Jarok x Beverly fic because I am now obsessed with them.

I also feel like a relationship with Jarok would help Beverly dodge all the other weird ships that the writer's gave her (light dude, the first trill (sorry Riker) and the candle ghost). A protective and suspicious Romulan partner would avoid all those problems, don't you think?

AAAHH!!!!! Yay!! I'm so glad you're excited about the Beverly x Jarok pairing too!! I literally have not been able to get it out of my brain since I saw that post about it being removed from the original script. Meaning I have been writing in some insane frenzy, trying to get all my thoughts out. (I have eight scenes that I've started/mostly completed, but I still need to go back and connect them, and there are a ton more scenes to go and–) *screams in emotions*

I mean, I'm completely normal about them...😇

You're so right, though. Jarok would totally keep away all the odd sexual encounters. (Listen, writers, idk what you were thinking when you gave Bev a candle to fuck, but uh...you were definitely on some sort of drugs, right?...Right??? Because that's the only explanation that makes sense to me.)

A suspicious, protective, loving Romulan partner, though, would definitely fix that!! Like "I'm sorry, you said a WHAT flirted with you??? A CANDLE?! Oh no, e'lev, we're staying in town at a hotel where there are no odd, lecherous old candles to bother you. No arguments." *protective, loving forehead smooch*

I'm sure somebody thought of this before, so it's probably not an original idea, but I couldn't remember seeing it anywhere else so I thought I'd comment...

What if the thing with Romulans and shoulder pads is them trying to look bigger? You know, how kitties go FLOOF when they see something scary? "Look at me, I'm not scared, I'm big and ferocious?" Even more so in TNG "We aren't scared of humans who defeated us and imprisoned us behind a neutral zone, we're BIG and SCARY and MEAN".

Ooooohh!! Y'know that makes sense! Romulans doing the puffy kitty thing but with their clothes! I love this!!

Totally a subconscious thought, too, I would think. Imagine if a Human noticed their Romulan partner was wearing something...a little larger than normal and reassuring them.

"Oooh, look at my big strong man! Nobody could beat you!" *Romulan preening ensues while they look at themselves in a mirror*

"Why, I do look rather intimidating, don't I?" >:D

Does Jadzia have an office, like a dedicated science area or lab? Because I feel like the answer is no, she ends up working everywhere, but I didn't know if I'd missed or forgotten something. I have rewatched some episodes but not the whole series (that was maybe 6 years ago that I watched the whole thing?). Anyway asking for me, working on my fic. Thoughts?

Well, I know there was (at least in the early seasons of DS9) a lab space, even if it wasn't designated as solely hers. I assume she'd be in charge of it because she was the official Science Officer. Although, it did get destroyed with some frequency in the early seasons (the proto-universe, the changeling monster thing, etc.). So...kinda yes? I don't know about an office, but I know she has a designated station in Ops that I would assume doubled as an office space if she didn't have one.

Oh! And I don't currently have AO3 up (a rarity, I know) so I can't check, but I don't remember if I commented on Chapter 3 of "Things Unseen." I thought I did, but just in case I didn't, I just wanted to say that I loved the interaction between Letant and your OC! And the way you wrote Letant grieving in Chapter 2 felt so in character! Your story is fantastic!

So I did a thing. It was longer than I thought it was going to be and not how I thought I would write it at all, but it's what came out of my brain after deleting two other drafts. It's set in the canon of Letant's episode for now, but kind of explores what he was doing while not on screen. Mostly. I had to include part of his fun time in a meeting.

It's ending up pretty long, so I broke the chapter into 2 parts. I guess it makes sense, since the first half was sassy and the second part was sad with Vreenak on the side.

Anyway let me know if I need to add any tags or warnings or if anything doesn't make sense/reads weird.

Hi, this isn't really an ask, but I'm new to tumblr and I don't know what I'm doing. I migrated over here from ao3 just so I didn't miss anything (jaylens_twin on ao3) and I'm so glad I did! I decided I should send an actual message because there have been so many great fics here over the past few days, I'm so so grateful! I especially like your new Koss fic - I wasn't very interested in him when I first watched Enterprise, but now I'm invested and hope to see more soon.

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you've enjoyed the first fics of the new year so far! That Koss fic in particular has been bouncing around in my brain since October, so I figured it was about time that I start writing/posting it. Unless my outline changes drastically, I think there will be something like eight-ish chapters for that fic, so there's plenty more Koss in store! He reallu is an underused character, so I figured I'd try to give him a little of the limelight that he deserved. I know he was a device for the tension between Trip and T'Pol, but he was so sweet and good, and he really deserved to have nice things too.

Hi! I had more thoughts about Praetor's Pride, is it better for them to be here? Less spoilery?

First of all, R.I.P. to all of Letant's allies who he tapped for a worthy third before he even told his prospective mate (because how could she say no?) and who insulted said prospective mate and are now...elsewhere. You did mention this in chapter 1 but it feels a lot more sinister now that you have revealed Letant's true intentions. Hopefully he isn't running out of allies. Although maybe they were getting a little scarce, so he decided to go big?

Also, I like the direction you took the story. I was afraid there was going to be something more love-triangley involving choices and a sad/stabby pointy boi. Although tbh Hiren is gonna be sad if he doesn't shape up.

Anyway I can't wait to see more! I am always glad to see an update. I have had no time this week to write for myself so I am grateful for you sharing!

The way I envisioned it, the only one of his allies who he ended up uh...dealing with...was the one who suspiciously went missing. He was the only one who was outright hostile/offensive to her about it. Don't worry, Letant isn't running out of allies! his charm fixes soooooo many things! (including my mood)

I honestly considered making it more love-triangle-ish or sticking with the original idea I had for it, but once I thought of this particular idea, it just wouldn't leave me alone. I don't think I could handle Letant being permanently stabby/sad like that. Hm...we'll just have to see if Hiren shapes up, won't we?
