Cool concept but probably doesn't exist irl" Then you decided to google it on a random tuesday and turns out there is a meteor shower that runs through that month..

... Like damn bro ur birthday is alr on the last day of the year (31st) and you get to wish on more than one candle? My envy for u grows/j

Lauren + 7 (Atonement - Conquer Divide)

On and off. On and off. The flame floats above her as she toys with the lighter. It’s nearly two in the morning, the skate park is deserted, and she’s sprawled across the pavement, watching the spark ignite and flourish.

Lauren had thought about breaking up with him for a while. Maybe that’s why this isn’t hurting her. The few dates they had were filled with awkward silences, he would never go with her to the skate park, and he wouldn’t even let her share their relationship publically. Did she really even like him, or was she just in a rush to be with someone like everyone else was?

So, yeah, being cheated on right before prom didn’t sting as much as it should. What did sting was watching him with the other girl.

They were attached at the hip, she would pass them talking at her locker nearly every day. The other girl would always lean against the wall with a smile, her jacket falling off her shoulder. Seeing them together just made her skin burn with discomfort. How could someone so beautiful end up with an absolute waste of time?

There was no way she knew the truth. They were in different social circles, so Lauren didn’t know her name, and she doubted the other girl knew hers, but that didn’t matter. She couldn’t stand aside and watch this girl live a lie.

On and off. On and off. She holds her arm up, the flame crackling against a clear night sky.
