Boromir knows he is tired. A heavy body and clumsy fingers and a slow muddled mind quite helpfully tell him so. And his mother's veils that pool and crimp around her legs are so very comfortable, the fabric against his cheek reminding him of being so small and drifting to sleep in the middle of the day just listening to Finduilas and her friends talk the afternoon away.

But Boromir is not small anymore, not by his standards anyway, and he has more things to worry him than he had when he was five. And these things are what urge him to pull his head up from his mother's lap and push himself upright to look at her searchingly, with an expression too old for the eight year old face it inhabits.
