"Hmm." He stares at you with that signature malicious glare.
“Hello! I did not see you come in– how are you! What’s your name! I’m Muffin!” the little swap exclaims all at once.
Alternate versions of him are immediately interesting, and this one was no different. Despite the probably bad intentions his glare portrayed.

Little by little Lahabrea was becoming more content with his new mortal life. Surely these lesser beings had confusing habits and traditions he was still learning but most of the time he found the pleasantries topped the discomfort. Ever since Lisette had become more open it was all but motivation for him to exceed her expectations and prove he can handle tasks on his own and further more - she could rely on him.
More frequent were the instances where he would try to venture further into the Shroud hunting or gathering what she would find useful. Today was such day where the ascian as carefully ‘peeling’ mushrooms off a tree doing through a gathering list. Four trees had burned and by Zodiark this fifth tree was the one to give him the needed shrooms.
That was when thee adventurers approached him. Normally this was a sign of alarm but as of recent, the ascian found out no one would really mind his attire. The three wanted someone to aid them breaking through a wall. Surely a break from the mushroom gathering seemed fine.
Awkward was one word to describe his first run alongside Eorzea’s heroes. Lahabrea found himself between a white mage roagedyn with moogle mask and wearing nothing but leopard pattern speedo, a dark knight au ri giving him an intense stare until their face broke into something like a smile worth making all the wild life run and finally Lahabrea turned to the lalafell black mage. The lalafell black mage who seemed completely content erupting everything in fire with not a single word uttered or a sound made. As they progressed through the Garlean territory, he began to wonder whether this popoto sized canon was a living being or not.
The ascian didn’t react. He didn’t utter a word even when the roegadyn patted him for the ‘fast run’ - whatever that would have meant. It was all behind now and Lahabrea was sure to slip away from the area as fast as possible.
However he still found himself greatly disturbed. Distress was spelled under his mask and when Lisette returned home she all but found her ascian guest slouched on the kitchen chair, staring at the ground in disbelief. Something had unsettled him, wounded and hurt him. Something...
“Beasty...” he turned to her, “Do you... think I’m sloppy?”
Horror was visiting for a small amount of time, not having seen Muffin for quite some time now. He had missed the smaller and peppy skeleton, it was time for a visit! However he was fairly tipsy and carried the aroma of a bar from the beers he's chugged down. After sometime he had found Muffin- or at least someone that looked like him. Crème. He immediately walks on over and throws one arm around his neck. "Heya Muffin it's been too long. How have ya been pal?"
The internal screaming is immediate and strong.
“Yes. Hi. You must be mistaken, I am not Muffin. He’s in another timeline at the moment. My name is Crème. And I would appreciate if you were to unhand me?” he asks, trying to attempt politeness first even if he’s speaking through grit teeth.
If he had less restraint and tolerance, he’d have slammed Horror against the ground to get away. There isn’t a single part of the casual touching and drinking which he appreciates here.
Mage slides Muffin an apple. It’s red and shiny. “Anons are stupid.” He thought sharing was a good idea
Muffin’s surprised but happy to see Mage! Perhaps his surprise isn’t necessary though, given the other came by the last time he was feeling really awful too.
Smiling softly, he’ll accept the apple. He appreciates the sharing! “Thank you… Heh.. I haven’t seen you in a while, friend. How are you?”
“I’m not really looking for any trouble... It just has a way of finding me...”
It was his mantra. Words that he lived by. Spoken so frequently that he may as well wear them on a shirt. Most recently, words he’d used as a half-hearted explanation to the cops who’d thrown him in the overnight lockup for fighting. Again.
His grandmother, who had bailed him out yet again, had different ideas on this philosophy. That it was more due to the boy’s reckless attitude and fiery temper, rather than him just being a magnet for conflict. She had a point, certainly. Joseph was a far cry from the gentlemen his grandfather had been, and the upstanding military man that was his father, but he knew that his tendency to lean towards conflict was due to much more than his own attitude.
He knew enough of his family history, either through story, rumour or the legacy thrust directly upon him to know that they were no ordinary bloodline. They all attracted trouble, to say the least. He might go as far as to say the supernatural itself seemed to seek them out.
His family birthmark seemed to signify that. A small discoloured bruise on his left shoulder, oddly depicting the clear shape of a perfect star, in straight lines and sharp angles. An amazing coincidence to form such a clear shape on one person, but doubtlessly something more by design when the mark appeared on all blood members of his family. That was no mere coincidence. That was fate.
That was what drew trouble to him. Stars, after all, were beacons. The guiding lights in the night sky that directed lost souls home and drew them closer. It was what had gotten his father, grandfather, and even his great grandfather killed. It was what tore his family apart and destroyed what he loved. What very nearly doomed the world.
But if this was his fate, he had no choice but to face it. He had yet to face a challenge he couldn’t overcome. Let the world throw everything it could at him.
Who knows? It might just be fun.
Yeets a small fox.
