based on: liam got the news that if he keeps practicing after receiving an injury he got he could end up not be able to swim. he’s known the news for a while but has yet to accept or tell someone. he doesn’t want to stop practicing, but he doesn’t want to be hurt forever.
He doesn’t hear the other, not even when they sneak up and on him. Mind playing the words over and over in his head. ‘If you don’t stop practicing-- The damage you cause will end your career, is that what you want?’ No, that wasn’t what he wanted...But he couldn’t admit defeat either. He wanted to get better, he didn’t want to admit that he was hurt. So lost in his thoughts, it took him getting shaken a couple of times. His head almost bobbling back and forth like a bobblehead. Turning, he looked over his shoulder at the other for a moment. “You’ve been calling my name?” Yes, he looks lost and spaced out. Maybe even disappointed and upset, all of those things are true. He’s upset and distraught about what to do “I didn’t hear you calling me.” In the back of his mind, he thinks back to the doctor’s words. A sigh escaping him, trying to focus on the words coming from the moving mouth. “Say it one more time? I missed it again.” Really, his mind isn’t there right now. But he was going to have to make a hard choice soon-- He didn’t know what he was going to do.
