Verity looked at him, shaking her head a little. “Well, in my world, not telling me all the facts means you weren’t being honest, Liam.” She told him, shrugging her shoulders gently. “Maybe.” She responded when he asked if she thought she’d be able to change him. Maybe deep down, there had always been a beam of hope that she could.

“It’s not your world. You need to wake up and face reality,” His voice started to raise, “It’s not all this rainbows and butterflies and whatever else. It’s crime, it’s murder, it’s cheating, it’s feelings not being mutual.” Liam was blunt. Maybe too blunt. He watched her position change completely. “Okay, you know I didn’t mean it like that. I’m sorry.”

Bridgets’  anxiety  had  been  skyrocketing  lately  .  She  had  been  in  her  head  spending  all  hours  of  the  night  on  the  internet  looking  up  death  counts  in  MMA  and  other  underground  fight  scenes  .  Her  heart  knew  this  is  what  he  loved  but  there  were  times  she  wished  for  a  normal white  picket  fence  life  . “  I  don’t  regret  it  if  that’s  what  you’re  trying  to  get  at  . ”  She  spoke , her  blue  orbs  starting  to  cover  with  water  but  holding  back  the  pain  of  how  she  truly  felt  about  this  . “ Give  it  up  . That’s  what  I  want  .  We  have  a  savings ,  I  make  enough  for  us  to  afford  the  things  we  want  .  My  photography  can  take  us  places  .  It’s  gotten  me  this  far  why  can’t  it  work  for  us  .  Can  you  just  take  a  break  ? ”   She  pleaded   . Her  teeth biting  down  on  her  upper  lip  unknowing  his  next  move  . This  was  going  to  be  another  sleepless  night  no  matter  the  result  of  this  “discussion”  .

“True,” she shrugged. It was one of the first things she’d learnt about Mckenzi since they’d become roommates. “Play the system. Got it,” Jodie nodded. “I just hope they’re not going to kick me out the second they realize I don’t usually dress like this,” she mused, picking at her clothing. “I mean, it’s pretty. Don’t get me wrong. And you pull this kind of thing of perfectly. But it’s not really my thing, you know?” she’d spent the majority of her life in shorts and jeans. maybe the occasional dress, but never any short skirts.

“That’s my girl.” She smirked staring her up and done once again making sure she looked appropriate then once again to herself in the mirror.  “Once3 you’ve been accepted they can’t really kick you out. I think it’s like a 90 day policy like work. So just fake it till you make it.” Mckenzi tried to encourage her roommate. She knew Jodie was only doing this so Mckenzi wouldn’t be a loner there. “Before we take off, I wanna say thanks and also you’re welcome. This year is gonna be great.”

“Glad we can agree.” Josie nodded. “Hm, so does that mean you’re staying the rest of my shift or giving me reason to leave early?” She raised her eyebrows questioning his intentions. She was fine with either outcome but was leaving the decision up to him. “So what’s it gonna be Dean?”

Amanda could feel anger boil up inside of her again at Arielle’s sudden anger. “How the hell was I supposed to know I needed to check on you?! You left me. I had no reason to assume that you’d want me to check on your or contact you.” With a scoff, she shook her head. “I mean, really Arielle. I thought you wouldn’t want me to contact you. Because, just to refresh your memory, you never told me what the hell was wrong. You just cut things off. People don’t exactly do that when they want you to check up on them or contact them.” Taking a second to recollect herself, she spoke again: “Listen, I get that anger is easier than sadness. But if you ask me, it’s not me you should be angry at. It’s the bastard who did it to you that you should be angry with. All I did was honor the fact that you broke things off with me.”

Arielle wasn’t going to back down until she got her point across but she felt powerless against her. Amanda had a certain way of controlling Arielle. A feeling she hadn’t felt in a long time. “I’m sorry, was I just supposed to text you. Hey sorry I cut you off but I was raped and I couldn’t cope.:” She sighed. “It doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue.” She was doing her best to control her emotions. “I’m done being angry at him. I- I don’t have time to be. I had to move on. And that’s what I did but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t hurt sometimes.” The word then got to her. Honor. “Honor?” She repeated. “I don’t know how to take that. Does that mean you like waited for me or something? Have you been single this whole time? Because that’s a little presumptuous, not too mention clingy and desperate.”

Allowing myself to get my heart broken like this.” She told him. 

Liam simply rolled his eyes. “I wasn’t not not honest. I just didn’t tell you all the facts. You know like news reporters do.” His tongue rubbed against the back of his teeth. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt her but that’s just the way things turned out to be. “What position? V? Did you really think we were going to be steady? I told you I wasn’t ready for another relationship right now. Did you think you were gonna change me or something?”

“ Oh?” he said when she mentioned closing his tab. He hadn’t mentioned leaving or anything yet, so he was a little confused about that reaction. Granted he’d had been a little annoyed by her actions he still hadn’t been mad at her, despite his glare.  He placed a twenty on the bar for the amount. “You know I wasn’t actually mad at you. Just taken back by the action. It wasn’t something I was expecting to happen.”  he said calmly. 

“Well I’m good at breaking boundaries.” She tried to chirp up. There was a slight awkwardness in the air. Josie let out a playful chuckle. “I’m sorry, I tend to be a little bold with my actions. A lot of people don’t really take that well.” The dollar bill was removed from the counter and change was given. “No matter your plans tonight, I hope you comeback or decide to stay. I’m Josie and I hope I see you around.”

“I’m just saying, if you let me I could totally get that date you’ve been pining for,” the blonde suggested coolly. Briefly looking away, Gina glanced up to see her friend’s reaction. Despite her nonchalant demeanor, she desperately wanted them to say yes. She would pounce at any opportunity to meddle in their love life.

“I dunno G.” Jesse shook his head. “As much as I like her. There’s no way she could ever go for a guy like me even with your convincing. And I’m not honestly sure if I’m ready for a relationship. You know after Sara, my heart still hasn’t fully recovered. I do appreciate the offer though.” He nudged her should. “Hey maybe you could date her though, and let me know what she’s like as a girlfriend.”

“Nah, just the truth.” He shrugged. “So that’s an invite in?” He questioned her. Jesse was unknowing of her intentions but knew damn well of his own. He slid past her entering the familiar abode. “Still the second door on the left? The one where we made all the memories?” He nudged her arm and cocked a smile. “Come on at least have a little laugh Sagie.”
