    She couldn’t believe it. Swallow thickly, Laura stared at the stick in her hands, eyes watering. On a whim, and because she’d been feeling so crappy lately, she had bought a pregnancy test, but she had never imagined it would be positive. Rubbing her nose, she sniffled quietly. She had been closer to Jake’s place than hers when she’d bought the test, so she had come here, and now surely someone was gonna start banging on the door any second and telling her to hurry up or ask if she was okay.

    “hello!” laura cooed with a giggle, rolling onto her back, “have you come to join me?”

    It wasn’t often that Laura went to concerts anymore. They were too crowded, too noisy, and there was consistently too much fear that someone would grab her or grope her or worse. But she had let a friend talk her into coming to see a local band, thankful that the venue wasn’t enormous. She found herself near the front, not too far from the stage, and truly enjoying the music coming from the amps. It was an added bonus that the lead singer was cute as hell, she thought as she swayed.
