My jewellery bench is officially a farm 😳🚜🌱Spent part of my evening potting up the 235,798 tomato plants that I started from seed. This probably should've been done a few weeks ago, but I couldn't get around to it until I got potting soil and paper cups (dollar store finds - the soil is organic, and 2 bags were something like $2!) The official count is 41 plants of 3 types of compact, cherry tomatoes: Hahms Gelbe Topftomate (yellow), Mohamed Ultra Dwarf and Red Robin Dwarf (red). Because they loitered in their little starter peat pucks a bit too long, I had noticed that their growth had slowed down and a few of them had a blanched leaf or 2, which I can only imagine was due to a lack of nutrients. I hope they'll grow like gangbusters now that they are in some good organic soil. Once the weather warms up after the next few days of deluge and March weather we're supposed to have, I'll move them to the enclosed balcony for a while each day to start hardening them off. I've never grown tomatoes from seed before - it's been fun so far, and I'm excited to spread the tomato love around once these guys are a little bigger ('cause I don't have room for 41 plants!!)
