Hi! Your blog is awesome! I've just created a study blog and was wondering if you had any tips for starting out? :)
Hey! Thank you so much! My tips for starting out are:
don’t compare your blog/content to other people’s 3 years blogs
introduce yourself. You can find introduction posts all over that can give you a good start in the studyblr community. But don’t just think about that in the beggining. l find I constantly have to introduce myself to the new people. so once in a while, or everytime my blog gets a jump I’ll say hi and a few things about myself!
start posting frequently with the tags studyblr, studyblr community, studyspo and any other that applies to you specifically (like you could be in high school, college, uni, be a law student, etc.) It helps people who are in the same position as you find you or connect with you!
you will stand out if you post original content (either in text or image form)
creating original content is difficult. start out by looking at popular posts and see what you can improve on.
remind yourself of the reason why you have a study blog. In my opinion, it shouldn’t be just about romanticizing learning, it should be about sharing your own academic journey and connecting with other students.
don’t be afraid to share your goals, wins and failures through your journey. Be honest. I think that’s what makes people want to stick around and stay accountable with you. Everyone can relate.
connect with mutuals through direct message or ask. I know at first is awkward and not every conversation turns out to have value to you or the other person, but this has helped me extract so much out of having a blog.. the ammount of people I’ve connected with from my country, or who also want to apply to uni, or the same uni as I do, or that are at that specific uni or other unis… is insane. And I literally would’ve academically done things differently this year if it wasn’t for some conversations that I had with these people.
appreciate this community. For me it’s one of the less judgmental communities out there and makes this new generation of bright educated ambitious people from all over the world stand out. Us, right now, wanting to learn and do good, do better. And everyone is welcomed to join.
That’s what I learnt for now at least! Good luck! Xx
