I'm studying to be a witch, and have found that Norse Paganism is the path that is for me. I'm still doing a ton of research and would like some help with that, if anyone is willing to reach out.
I also believe I might be a weather witch! (I've asked my pendelum, and it hasn't been wrong before!)
But I would really like to explore further and discover myself and discover more of my faith.
I also recently bought tarot cards, they should be here within a few days, and if anyone has any advice on that!
I'm also unfortunately in the broom closet, so I have to be slightly discreet.
If anyone would like to reach out, I would greatly appreciate it!
I just have a quick question, if pluto is included with witchcraft, then ??¿ what about the other dwarf planets? wouldn’t they have spiritual properties and deities too? if so, why aren’t they normalized as pluto is?
candles of multiple colors, 3 candle holders, dried rose petals, some crystals for beginners, a starter witch mystery bag, and some empty bottles.
things I bought on amazon:
a journal to be my starting Grimoire, of sorts, to keep information down. I try to buy from etsy and other witches, but sadly the price couldn’t be beat and i liked the design.
things that i didn’t buy that i don’t need but i want so bad:
this tope bag.
any suggestions for anything else i need or should look into?
also if anyone wants links to what i bought feel free to ask in the comments, when it comes in i’ll take some photos!
hello! i’m ryan! i’m a teenager from brazil and i made a new sideblog specifically to sort of document my witchcraft journey? i’m still really new to all of this and i was looking for some mutuals to get me started and to help me out! i’ll follow back with my main ( @oakenshoelace )
I've always been fastiaded from all the magical story that our parents where telling us. All this beatifull creatures, adantures and things to learn💫 But knowing that all this isnt really real was a pitty.
Watching all this movies and reading books led me the path to the point where i am now.
Finding out about real witchcraft, wicca and all that is conected to it. Im really coriouse what i can finde out and start to learn. Even tho the start is kinda hard, because THERE IS SOME MUCH OF IT! But i will find my way through 😊💫
Congratulations! You have taken your first step and decided to become a witch! Welcome to a magical, wonderful, confusing journey! There are going to be a lot of resources out there about what you have to have/need to become a witch, and while they can be helpful a lot of them tend to be Wiccan based, focused on a certain type of the craft, or include expensive ingredients. As a starter witch I was always so frustrated and disheartened by seeing lists that included expensive wands, tarot decks, et cetera. Below is everything you will want/need to start your craft. Good luck, and happy crafting! (Requested by @th-ozz)
Basic Supplies:
A way to keep notes (Google Docs, a journal, literally anything you can reference back later to see what worked, what hasn’t, et cetera)
Any small object you can use to practice charging (I used a rock my first time around!)
A candle (Go get a cheap pillar candle from the dollar store!)
Anything you have in your spice cabinet
A safe space to practice
Advanced Supplies:
Essential oils
Crystals (I’m a big fan of rose quartz, turquoise, and amethyst because they’re local)
Colored candles (Birthday candles are great! They’re cheap, can be used multiple times, and come in all the colors of the rainbow, so work great for color symbolism. You can also use them in jar spells, sealing things, and for adding a bit of pop to a larger candle)
A mortar/pestle
Jars!!!! JARS!!! ALL THE JARS!!!
Ziplock bags (Hold banishing powder, emergency salt, spells, teas, etc. without the space that jars take up)
An altoid can/small box for temporary / secret altars (If you want an altar)
Dirt/potting soil (Put it in a small jar or bag for grounding/protection on the spot, also if you buy potting soil you can use it to grow your own herbs!)
Tarot Cards (You can make your own if you want!)
Pendulum
Incense/Incense Burner
Master Supplies:
A sewing needle
Thread
Linen/muslin
Popsicle sticks/wooden dowels (For making poppets)
Animal Bones (For death magic)
Keep in mind that you don’t need ANY of this, or you may want ALL of this! Your craft can be based solely on visualization work, or intention only. You may call upon a god or the fae for help. You may want more/less supplies depending on how you practice, religion, availability, et cetera. Just remember one simple rule: you are a witch so long as you call yourself a witch. Religion, culture, skin color, orientation, language, class, and education don’t matter. If you want to be a witch, and call yourself a witch then you are one. If you practice every day, or once a year you are a witch. If you’re a pagan, Christian, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, Wiccan, Shinto, or anything in between you are still a witch. When I converted to Paganism I had a lot of problems accepting that, but as I have grown I have learned that it does. not. matter. Your practice and your craft belong to YOU and YOU ALONE. Do not let ANYONE, not even me, tell you your craft is wrong, or invalid. You can be traditional, modern, solitary, or join a coven. Whatever you do, you practice the way you want to, and deserve to feel safe and accepted the way you practice. There is no one right or wrong way to be a witch. My blog is here as a resource for everyone who wants spells, advice, instruction, and everything in between. Welcome to the witchcraft community!
