Captain Christopher Pike

Description

This is a drawing I've done of Captain Christopher Pike of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, played by Anson Mount. Strange New Worlds is a prequel of The Original Series that starred Captain Kirk, both of whom captained the USS Enterprise.

Strange New Worlds is a really interesting take on Star Trek, bringing back the episodic episodes that lately have been sidelined for series long arcs as well as some humour. One thing of interest is Pike's large quiff, which seems to have a life of its own and is almost a co-star!

The original series had a pilot episode, The Cage, that had the USS Enterprise captained by Captain Pike, played by Jeffrey Hunter, but that pilot failed to impress the producers and it was ditched. They decided to go with it again, but this time with William Shatner as Captain Kirk, keeping only Leonard Nimoy as Spock from the original pilot's crew.
