Go Beyond the Tesseract: In This Economy 8 tips for Recareering or Starting your Biz at any age expecially 50 plus!

 One of my valued colleagues said yesterday to think beyond the Tesseract so I looked it up and found out that wikipedia calls it --our-dimensional analog of the cube; the tesseract is to the cube as the cube is to the square. Just as the surface of the cube consists of 6 square faces, the hypersurface of the tesseract consists of 8 cubical cells. The tesseract is one of the six convex regular 4-polytopes.A generalization of the cube to dimensions greater than three is called a "hypercube", "n-cube" or "measure polytope". The tesseract is the four-dimensional hypercube, or 4-cube.

SEEMS TOTALLY APPROPRIATE FOR THIS ECONOMY TO GO BEYOND THE TESSERACT in the way we start our businesses and change careers. So here are 8 of my fave tips on recareering especially for those age 50 plus but great for anyone! 

 Here are my tips some from my bestsellng book RECAREERING: When just another Job is NOT ENOUGH by Career Press which has become a classic at colleges and career centers across the country.  #1 Remember you're not starting over - -you're starting better --it's the attitude not the aptitude that's the real difference  #2 Don't just ask for advice--ask for an opportunity and even a job! cool that an inquiry got thousands of responses but 3 job offers or opportunities to shadow these people in their fields would have outweighed all that good advice  #3 LIVE YOUR VISION -- create a vision board for your life and begin to live the vision -- get in as close proximity as you can to living your dreams come true -- want to sail around the globe-- head over to the Marina or at least to the Boat show in your city  #4 Create multiple income streams - -the word career just may be outdated -- but an income stream in consulting can add to an income stream in direct sales for a major brand and that may give you the freedom to accept that flat fee for chaperoning college kids on their schooner adventure to the Pacific!  # 5 Seriously consider starting your own business -- 50 percent of all small businesses in the USA are owned by women -- almost 9 million companies according to Amex OPEN recent survey  #6 See yourself as the CEO - of your life and your company -- many women businesses don't make more than $50K -- so see your firm as a million dollar biz not just a salary!  #7 Organize a personal board of advisors -- advice from others out of work won't cut it in this economy  #8 Gain some experience working at a venture funded startup -- even if it means putting in sweat equity while you look for a job For more tips
