DAY 2 of Citizen Sleeper January.. the sleeper helping bleach Serafin's hair for todays prompt
Citizen Sleeper 2 is a game that lets us all live out our greatest fantasy: petting two cats at once.
women
Day 5 of Citizen Sleeper January is Bliss//Repairs.
There are a lot of weird angles my brain decided to go with, but I am still really happy with how they turned out.
Finally finished Citizen Sleeper 2 :')
citizen sleeper (and its incredible sequel) really remind me a lot of heaven will be mine, but without quite the same level of dislocating strangeness. also less centrally queer, but certainly not not queer; i don't know if you can write a transhumanist story about a degendered android that isn't at least a little queer. hwbm is one of my favorite games of all time, so even a pale echo of it is a delight for the soul
it's also i would say in the disco elysium subbranch of rpg/adventure games/visual novels. it's… well, gentler isn't the right word, exactly, but it's closer to the start of its foundational revolution and so there's more… optimism? that's not right either, since DE can be a profoundly hopeful game, but CS is more willing to anticipate change.
also also one of the few games i can recall that makes participating in a flat out labor struggle a key subplot in the game. you help a bunch of exploited miners go on strike and foment a mutiny on a company ship in order to enforce a striker barricade. it's a cool moment, and is a nice model of collective action embodied through a powered by the apocalypse style dice and clock system. i'm heading into an arbitration hearing myself soon, so getting to play through a successful labor movement was pretty cathartic. workers of the Belt, unite!
I dunno if I'd call Citizen Sleeper 2 BETTER than the first one, but I can say that just like the first one it tore my heart out, stomped on it, then kissed it gently and put it back in my chest so that's worth something They're two parts of the same story, and both have broken me and remade me into someone different. Both are absolutely two of the greatest RPGs of all time, and I encourage everyone to at the very least give them a chance, because they'll affect you in ways you could never imagine.
