Amazon Lists Grogu Tamagotchi with January Release Date
The preorders are here! When Bandai Namco US announced the Grogu Tamagotchi, they left out a lot of details, including the release date. They did tease that preorders would be listed soon on Amazon, and here they are! The blue version is listed for $19.99, and the Using The Force shell with silicone case is listed for $27.99. Both have a release date of January 27th, 2023! Which one are you preordering?
Bandai Japan Announces Grogu Tamagotchi
Just announced a few hours ago by Bandai Namco US, Bandai Japan has officially announced the Grogu Tamagotchi! It appears that preorders are already listed on Premium Bandai Japan starting at 16:00 on September 21st, 2022. It appears that Bandai Japan will be including the silicone case on both shells, where Bandai Namco US will only be including it with the Using The Force shell.
Key information from the Premium Bandai Japan listing includes the price of ¥4,400 including tax, reservation period will be from September 21st through October 7th, 2022. Lastly, the Grogu Tamagotchi will be released January 2023 in Japan.
Star Wars Grogu Tamagotchi Coming to Australia!
That’s right, the Grogu Tamagotchi is going down under! Bandai Namco Australia has just announced on their official Twitter profile that the Star Wars Grogu Tamagotchi preorders will be available soon! This is great news for Star Wars lovers in Australia.
Bandai Namco US Brings Grogu Tamagotchi to New York Comic-Con 2022!

Recently announced, and not yet available, Bandai Namco US was showing off the upcoming Grogu Tamagotchi at the New York Comic-Con! That’s right, there was a display for the upcoming Grogu Tamagotchi was featured along the walls of the nano collaborations.

Displayed right above the Kingdom Hearts Tamagotchi, which essentially replaced the One Piece Tamagotchi display that we saw at the San Diego Comic-Con 2022!

New York Comic-Con goers were able to see what the Grogu Tamagotchi looks like, and the packaging for both the Tamagotchi, and the device with the silicone case. The packaging is very reminiscent of the Gudetama Tamagotchi case set.

The Grogu Tamagotchi’s similar to the other displays were not powered, but featured a sticker on the screen to emulate what Grogu looks like on the device. Grogu Tamagotchi was not for sale, but it probably help sparked a lot of interest in the upcoming collaboration!
Bandai Posts English & French R2-D2 Tamagotchi Manuals
Bandai America has just posted both the English & French manuals to the R2-D2 Tamagotchi listings on their website. The manual reveals more detail about the device, including the characters, which are different iterations of R2-D2 and even the special characters as well! We also have a peak inside the unique features of charging, and wiping R2-D2 down!
What really has us excited is the ability to challenge Yoda, and the secret mini games which are completely detailed in the manual! Be sure to check out the manual before you get your hands on your R2-D2 Tamagotchi!
Bandai Namco US Brings Tamagotchi to 2022 Sweet Suite
Tamagotchi is back at Sweet Suite in person for the first since 2019! Yes, you heard that right the last time Bandai Namco US attended The Toy Insider’s Sweet Suite event in person was merely 3 years ago where they showed off the Tamagotchi On that was just recently announced prior to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Bandai Namco US was never absent as they attended both virtual Sweet Suite events back in 2020 and 2021! With the launch of the new Tamagotchi Pix Party, it only seems fitting that Bandai Namco US attends the event in person in New York City!
Sweet Suite, the Toy Insider’s invitation only event for influencers and press is being hosted in at Pier Sixty at Chelsea New York City. The purpose of attending the event is for toy companies to gain exposure from influencers and the press. Bandai Namco US has posted two pictures to their social media profiles to give us a glimpse into their setup at the event.
It appears that Bandai Namco US has brought two large Tamagotchi Pix Party cutouts that influencers can take pictures with in a photo booth with a party hat and balloons! You can see that the Tamagotchi Pix Party devices are showcased on the table as well as a large printout of a Tamagotchi party, how cute is that and how great would it look in our office? It also appears that Bandai Namco US has brought the Tamagotchi Original, Toy Story Tamagotchi, and lastly R2D2 Tamagotchi as well.
We’re glad to see that The Toy Insider’s Sweet Suite event is back in person for 2022, and that Bandai Namco US was in attendance with a rather impressive Tamagotchi spread!
