I guess because I was raised half Christian and half Catholic I never realized how much they hate each other, because apparently there's genuine disdain between the religions? "They're the same religion one just has more steps" yeah that's what I thought too BUT I GUESS NOT??
Last night my mom was telling me a story. So after I got dedicated to the Christan church or whatever my family went to my grandmother's house to celebrate, when my mom was bringing me in she walked in on my uncle saying something like "I'm surprised the HEATHEN church did such a good sermon"
HEATHEN CHURCH???? NO HAS USED THE WORD HEATHEN IN FOREVER??? THATS SUCH AN INSULTING WAY TO DESCRIBE A CHURCH WHEN THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU I CAN FIGURE OUT IS THAT THEY DON'T CHANT TO SOME BEADS ON A STRING FOR NINE HOURS??????
I'm not really attached to either religion so I'm not like personally offended, but I just find it funny that he called us heathens, like he was some rich noble and we were some poor beggers or smth idk.
So that and a moral oral episode really showed me that for some reason Christians and Catholics hate each other, which really makes me wonder what my dad's side thinks of me. Fun :3
