It’s been a week plus of school and stuff.
So I haven’t come around to finding a profile background, I guess I’ll keep it that way.
I’ve been looking at StashAway, a robo-advisor that manages my portfolio for an annual fee (0.8%) and I placed some money there. It seems really convenient to gain access to US equity without the hassle of opening an overseas brokerage account on major brokerages. Also, because of their no-minimums, you can put as low as $1 and your dollar will be spread into various stocks depending on the risk profile you selected.
One interesting thing about StashAway was it’s VaR (Value at Risk) - I selected a 20% risk level and their VaR is 99%. This means that they have a 99% of securing 80% of my portfolio in economic downturns or times of volatility. The highest you can go is 36%, which means you put 36% of your portfolio at risk of losing it for a more aggressive growth profile.
Hopefully, it does well as I do see myself withdrawing some funds in 2022 or 2023 for my future house. Would love to report back on its performance too. right now, for a $10,300 investment, the returns have been $51 for 3 days.
Last Tuesday I did my sprints as usual but I feel much easier to breathe. Looking forward to continuing tomorrow, until my fitness test day.
My Dervish Sama (Paris trucks, Kegels) came in the mail. I skated around the neighbourhood and the feeling of surfing your street is really liberating. The weather wasn’t very good but the board was really comfy to ride and I’m trying to get my bearings back + learning to ride switch.
I also liquidated some crypto assets I held (nothing large, small amounts everywhere) - Enjin Coin, Miota, Bluzelle, Cardano (ADA). Looking to consolidate into Ethereum now since shitcoins are shit. I really liked Cardano though, but the bear market right now is not conducive at all.
Got some school work to complete and I need to start on my essay.
