I tried to replicate the style, but I'm not sure I like it, but it's alright. Still figured I'd share it.

OC write up: Operator

Jotting down some initial thoughts to paper about an outlast oc of mine: Operator. Trying to get a feel for her, nothing is set in stone, just having fun :)

i wanted an oc to ship with franco who i could self insert onto, didnt want to be a reagent, and knew a pa oc would need to have a strong theme. i like making ocs that feel realistic to the universe theyre in.

For a while i had an idea for a pa who specialized in the disposal of bodies by decaying them with plants and bugs, a general botanical theme (will put her to paper eventually). This 'Gardener' oc was very manic and particular. Not all there mentally, a bit like gooseberry in her own world. Ascribing sentience to plants and bugs and idolizing them above humans in their cleanly abilities. loping around naked (more natural) in their trial environment with a large pair of stylized shears to chop up reagents for the compost bin. But I wanted something more grounded to ship franco with.

I liked the concept of a suspiciously helpful character, so Gardener's body disposal theme eventually morphed into Operator.

Operator's general flavor I would say is like that "girl next door" type trope? A cool headed aura, who pokes fun like she knows you. Heard this demeanor described as 'sisterly'. In behavior, a good listener, a firm provider of excellent service. Like when you speak to a professional service industry person? Have you ever spoken to a receptionist who really listened and knew how to help you and was very patient? A warm comforting aura, just a phone call away, who takes care of all your problems and may even give you a little something extra for your troubles (drugs). This irreplaceable service comes at a steep price, monetarily if things go well, and if they don’t? Become too close to the purposefully remote operator or cross her, and she will leave you high and dry with an embarrassment of evidence of your crime in an inconvenient location and a large amount of prohibited substances on your person.

 Anonymous phone/ surveillance characters are some of my favorites. Characters who stay distant and have eyes in helpful places. Operator began as a uniquely talented body disposal service, branching out to also supply illicit substances from god knows where, and surveil locations of interest, perhaps a supplier of rare goods?

Operator as a character is an isolationist, purposefully anonymous for safety, work flow, and emotional distance. She developed a bit of a 'lonely hearts' hotline gimmick to placate more talkative clients (and to secretly fulfill her own social desires). This charismatic persona eventually preceded operator, becoming in-demand as a great conversationalist as well. Some of these in character chats bloomed into actual friendships, all of which eventually ended tragically, a consequence of the crime business and all. These deaths effected operator deeply, causing even further isolation and perfectionism.

Before murkoff, I imagine operator to be a contract worker who was hopping around crime scene to crime scene, cleaning up the aftermaths of bloody sprees for people in the know with deep enough pockets. a bit of an inside secret as the best scene cleanup in the biz, just dont ask questions. Operator then turns around with this biowaste and recycles it into fertilizer to be used on opiate farms or some such thing, she keeps some for herself for her hydroponic side hustle. eventually she becomes too well known and murkoff does what it does best.

Operator is an especially free spirit, to be held down a distinct fear. Pressure mounted as clients sought to permanently retain her services, locking her down in one place with people who could not be avoided if tides turned. Demands for attention and services mounted. All this and rumors of some shadowy org who took ppl off the map seeking her out. It was all too much. Normal evacuation procedures were assumed, just like the hundreds of times before. She'd disappear for a time and resurface when it was quieter. But like those assets before her, she could not escape the yoke.

Bc I am unfamiliar with all the mechanics in outlast trials, I'm unsure how she would fit into the place. Ill figure this out eventually. Implemented in sinyala as a service to other pa's? sinyala's after trials clean-up service? regardless, old habit die hard and operator's services are extended to the other pa's, whether it be out of duty or genuine affection (franco lol).

How would Marco react or feel about your other ocs such as Billy or Spot if the facility did exist? Also would his opinion change at all if he was a prime asset or no?

Marco's opinions kind of echo Francos distantly tbh. And they'd be pretty much the same, PA or not. But for the sake of trails, we'll say this is PA Marco's thoughts.

He would be mildly indifferent to Jake Billy Jonathan, given the fact that the guy is literally watching trials happen from the rafters. He never interferes with trials themselves or whatever either side (reagents/PAs) happen to be doing. Save for occasionally dropping down to snag a trinket or two. He doesn't see him as a threat, but because of the ambiguity, he also doesn't trust him. So, the main result is acknowledgment and avoidance.

As for Spot, he doesn't like him. It isn't to the level of pure hate that Franco displays, but he's definitely very uncomfortable about Spot. He happens to echo some inner issues Marco sees within himself (ie. Sex addiction/sexual depravity). On top of that, Spots naked all the time, so Marco is kinda just :| dealing with looking at this dudes junk all trial, which he isn't a fan of.
