when I was in high school, I marched mellophone in the Hoptown High School band(state finalists this year btw). I have soo many fond memories but one I do remember is us doing a run through of our show on the stadium grass. It was a lil different than the paved parking lot. I was a freshman and although I was kind of confident and undaunted, I still looked up to my upperclassmen. So in the middle of our run through, I fell down... I got back up and kept going but I was shaking!! so embarrassed!!!! HORRIFIED! so many people saw it!! to this day, I do not remember as much WHO saw it. What I most remember is the person who came up to me after. My friend Dan came and asked if i was ok. He was an upperclassman, highly respected, and very very quiet/to himself. He asked if I was ok and told me he had done that before and to shake it off. He didn't have to do that. no one told him to talk to me or encourage me. It wasn't a big deal to him to do that for me but it was something I will never forget. Anytime you can contribute to someone's level of confidence and you have a positive impact on their life.... is certainly a win in my book. congrats hhs tiger band!!!!! #goband #marchingband #goband #frenchhorn #mellophone #chiomega #sigmaalphaiota #crossfitgirls #barre #yoga #golfers #statefinalists
