Okay Star Trek Discovery, I see what you’re trying to do. You really think you can just... introduce a precocious teen genius who immediately creates chaos the moment they are on board and then with wide limpid eyes explains why as they also share their hopes and dreams and oh did they mention they are hosting a Trill symbiont...with the expectation that I am going to adopt them as my child to be protected at all costs?  You think you can manipulate me like that? Because you can. Fuck off.

when vance essentially pointed out that osyraa was the chain that there’s no leadership except for her and that it can’t continue like this bc federation never was and never will be based on authority of one person and also she has to be tried for her crimes bc they can’t let her get away with it in good faith

when stamets didn’t slap that chain’s scientist back with “the federation would’ve cured/ taken care of u for free from the moment u were diagnosed without making a big deal out of it also anybody talented enough can be a full time scientist you think you’re lucky now?? you have no idea what luck is!!!! “

Okay I’m watching Star Trek discovery it’s really really good I’ve been in a Star Trek sort of mind since watching Picard (which was also really really good) BUT THEY JUST BURIED THE GAY I can not believe they just swiftly killed him JUST LIKE THAT I cannot fathom nor comprehend

What i liked and disliked abt the latest discovery ep:

Positive stuff first:

- loved michael making a bold choice. "Rather regret something i did than something I didn't"--yesss. Not to bring up lorca but it reminded me of "the kind of thinking that wins wars". I love her unwavering focus on finding out the truth and i love that she's not hesitating to prioritise what she thinks is right, while fully aware of the consequences. Forging her own path indeed!!

- im finally 100% sold on michael/book. Like i was into the idea of them but i hadnt had Feels TM for them before, mostly bc i cant let ashburn go, sigh. But this ep absolutely gave me the feels~~~ That look on book's face when he sees michael?? That alone had me sold, but then their scene when they snuck away to hug and talk and make an escape plan just. Wow. Their chemistry is through the roof, and even tho we didnt get to see it, the history between them is evident in the dialogue and the actors' portrayal--and very compelling. And then the kiss w the interruption and then book just pulling michael in??? dreamy as hell.

- tyler mention 😭 thank u for that philippa. And michael repeating his name and getting cranky at philippa for bringing him up 😢 its not much but at least it happened.

- all of Michael and philippa stuff was golden of course although im tired of michael supporting everyone. Would like to see the reverse happen once in a fucking while

- this is super minor but joann was looking so beautiful w that golden eyeliner!

Which brings me to what i hated:

- it's s3 and michael is still not captain, and on top of it she got reprimaded and demoted??? Fuck that. Like i think (i hope) that it's eventually going to lead up to michael discovering the truth abt the burn and thus being proven right, but im still mad.

- ajdjjfjfjf cant believe tilly just snitched on michael and told saru to go snitch on her to vance!!!!! I fully expected tilly to cover for her and be caught in her lies by saru but nope! And yes i understand her motivations but full disclosure like i never cared too much for tilly beyond her friendship w michael (and i never shipped them) and now I'm just like...tilly is fucking cancelled!!

- this isnt smth that i hated per se, but i continue to be bored by adira. For one i think it was a rly, to put it mildly, weird decision to introduce a trans character of colour only to immediately kill him off and have him be subsumed by a white character. And yeah ian alexander is technically still there playing his character but nobody can see him or interact w him, and it's adira who gets to be involved in the plot. And two, like i said im just v whatever abt adira so far.
