Since we have to live in a sea of strangers, so it's natural to feel stressed and conflicted. You might think it's better not to get carried away by your emotions, but it's normal for your feelings to fluctuate and get messed up. The important thing is not to get caught up in those waves or get swept away by them.
Fudoshin (lit. Unwavering Mind) is a mind that does not overflow even when shaken, a mind that remains centered on one point even when it fluctuates like a scale.
The most emotional issues depend on your mindset and how you perceive things. Once you have a correct perception of the situation, you will not be at the mercy of your emotions, even if they disturb you.
When you are caught up in the waves of emotion, something inside you is making a wrong judgment. This wrong perception may stem from a desire to protect your position or pride. Or, you may be trapped by a single concept. To clarify this, you need to technically stop your emotions for a moment. If you know the technique of shutting off the flow of emotions once they are in place, it is possible to cultivate a steadfastness that will return even if you sway.
