Yessss!! That makes me so happy to hear, @stealing-your-kittens! They are definitely my otp for "Fleabag". Sure they had a rocky first meeting (btw, am I the only one who thinks it looks like the Bank Manager tears up a little when she says "I'm not trying to shag you, look at yourself!"?), but then when they meet again they really connected in a way I suspect neither had done with another person in a long time. That scene they have together at the retreat is just so beautiful and honest. They're both completely present and vulnerable.

Daaaaaamn. He said nothing? It wasn’t just left out
If he’d said anything in the “Johnny, the fuck, that’s not okay” area they would have published the response and subsequent exchange because it would be potential evidence. Depp’s lawyers characterised the exchanged as “their client venting harmlessly to a friend”. But I would’ve given him the benefit of the doubt (meaning perhaps he chose to talk to his friend face to face, given the seriousness of the topic) if Bettany hadn’t tweeted a defence of Depp when things came to light in 2016, calling him “the sweetest, kindest, gentlest man that I've ever known”.
Love Paul as an actor, but I’m tired of men pulling crap like this.
Just a weird righty :) My main art style tends towards intensive cross-hatching from a dozen angles, so doing that straight-handed doesn’t work

Drawing straight is really hard! But it only gets harder and literally painful if your wrist is contorted, ie not stable. (Try ‘circles and lines’ warm up exercises in an ergonomic position and I promise it gets easier the more you practice.) Your arts really good! I look forward to seeing more of it.
Funny thing is I have a diploma in graphics and yet I still cannot help but draw like a pretzel because I do it so rarely and I find it so comfy. I really should get back more into my art. I used to do a comic strip many moons ago. Unfortunately fic seems to be sapping all my creative juice these days.
Here’s a peek at some of my old analogue stuff :)
My favourite thing is drawing on black or coloured card with my prismas :D
And occasionally, charcoal :) This was my first time using charcoal pencils.
Ah, yeah, that's fair. In any circumstance it would be a cruel thing to have thrown in your face, but in that situation especially.
I heartily agree! Hugh Dennis/the Bank Manager is *not* someone one would kick out of bed! Good looking, charming and kind. 😍❤
Absolutely! And I feel like they probably were the only ones in each other's lives (from the retreat onward) who accepted the other without judgement. Which also shows in how comfortable Fleabag was around him; no need for little escapes.
Johnny Depp is suing The Sun over the newspaper calling him a wife-beater, claiming it to be slander. In the process of things his lawyers accidentally shared with the newspaper’s lawyers a folder containing texts between Depp and other people, including Paul Bettany. In those texts Johnny talks about drowning and burning Amber Heard and fucking her corpse to make sure she’s dead. And I’m not interested in anyone who would not take a friend to task over that, at the minimum.
Both UK and US Audible has it, so it should work OK. :)
Oh, no, that's a real shame. Hopefully that film will be available in the US at some point.
I'll have to get some sleep now, but it was lovely chatting with you, so nice to meet a fellow appreciator of both Hugh Dennis and the Fleabag/Bank Manager dynamic.
That sounds really good, I'll have to check it out when I have an opportunity, and he can definitely pull off the whole arrogant prat villain part. "...if Gaston had depth and didn't even realize it himself" made me cackle! I can just imagine that 😂😂
One of the things I love about him is that he can do that sort of part as easily as playing a very likeable and genuine person like the Bank Manager, plus he's great at character work in voice based things (radio/audio plays). Did you ever come across an audio comedy series called "Slaving Away"? He plays an old Brigadier in that and he's just great!
