the start of a wonderful friendship
summary: this is just a short fic about how Beca and Stacie's friendship started.
First day of third grade, also known as Beca's first day of school for the school year. Ever since her parents divorced, they're only concern is her education and where she'll study her parents somewhat agreed that she'll be staying with her mom until she graduates high school, and she'll move with her father for college. Beca's mom stopped in the entrance of the school to drop her off "Have fun at your first day of school sweetie." Her mom planted a kiss on the top of her head. Beca smiles at her mom and nodded and left the car, heading inside the school building.
Beca's first few classes weren't really somewhat interesting, she didn't talk to anyone but greeted her new classmates and old with "Hi" and "Hello"s. But during lunch time, she decided to eat outside. While she's having lunch she hears a faint "Give it back!" coming from the playground, she turns her back to see a tall, lanky girl reaching for her glasses from a bunch of boys on the slide. One of the boys intentionally stepped on the girl's glasses, snapping it in half. This made Beca get up, grab her bag and march to the playground to help the poor girl "Hey! Leave her alone." Beca told the two boys off, knowing that Beca is short the boys start to laugh at her "Oh no! Scary, what will she do?" One of them mocked being scared. Beca grabs a handful of rocks from the ground and threw it at them, this made her feel like she's David and the bullies were a bunch of Goliaths. The bullies start to scream and run away as she chased them around the playground throwing rocks at them "That's it, scram or I'll find a rock that's bigger than I threw at you and bash your skull!" Those are some words that came out of a nine year old's mouth.
Beca heads back to where the girl was, she looks down on the ground and picked up her glasses handing it to the taller girl. The taller girl frowned to see her glasses are broken in half "They're broken." she muttered to herself, Beca opens her bag and pulled out tape from her pencil case "Give me your glasses." She reached her hand out. She hands the glasses to Beca and watched as she tried to fix her glasses with layers of tape "Here." She handed the glasses back, the girl puts her glasses back on and smiles at her "Thank you so much!" She pulls her in for a tight hug.
Beca lightly pushed her away smiling at her as well "You're welcome, I'm Beca by the way." She introduced herself to the taller girl reaching her hand out again for her to shake. "Stacie, Stacie Conrad! Nice to meet you Beca." Stacie introduced herself to the shorter girl vigorously shaking her hand, Beca lets go of Stacie's hand "Thank you for saving my life by the way." Stacie said. Beca shrugged "It's nothing, they are a bunch of idiots anyways." The two girls laughed it out as a response, the two of them climbed up on the slide and decided to eat together there. "I have a sandwich that we can share!" Beca looked at her lunchbox again, "Does it have peanut butter? I am allergic to peanut butter." She asked the shorter girl. Beca shook her head "This one doesnt have any peanut butter." She handed a sandwich to Stacie.
As the two of them are having lunch in the playground, the both of them start to realize that this will be a start of a life long friendship.
