Might be a bit of a weird request but like, what if one of steggy's friends came to see their new baby or something? Idk but I love how you write steggy <3

Several of Steve and Peggy's friends had been over at this point; all to meet the new baby.

A week after being home, they get their next visitor: Howard.

"How are you two doing?"

"Tired," Steve and Peggy both answer at once (and it made sense to Howard, because frankly, they both looked haggard). Despite that, Sarah was a fairly well-behaved baby - so far, she hardly fussed.

Howard nods. "So I've heard from a lot of new parents,"

"You have friends?" Peggy snarks with a tilt of her head, sleeping baby in her arms.

"Ha, ha, Peg. Yes, I very much so have friends." He sits down on the couch next to her. "So! This must be Howard Junior,"

"It's a girl, and no." Steve replies. "Her name is Sarah."

"You should name the next one after me," Howard sniffs.

"In your dreams, Howard. Do you want to hold her?" Peggy offers.

Howard glances at the small, very fragile looking baby. "You sure?"

"Just make sure you support her head," Peggy answers, gently handing her off to Howard.

He immediately freezes. "Oh. She's... tiny."

"Babies usually are, Howard." Peggy murmurs lackadaisically, stretching her arms. She allows her eyes to shut, still listening to the conversation.

"Y-yeah. I just...wow." Howard says in awe. Sarah blinks sleepily at Howard before quickly falling back asleep again.

There's a knock at the door (probably another well-meaning neighbor with some sort of food to drop off) and Steve excuses himself to get it.

Once Steve is out of earshot, he takes a furtive glance at Peggy, and finally back to the baby.

"Hey, kiddo. I know you don't really...know people yet, but soon you'll know me as Uncle Howard - maybe. You and I are gonna get in all kinds of trouble together," he coos. "But don't tell your Mom, alright? Let's keep her on her toes."

Sleepily, Peggy smiles to herself.

Fic Preview:

Peggy sighed heavily with relief as she turned the key in the lock and shuffled her way into her home. She had to admit that her twelve hour work days while being seven months pregnant were starting to wear on her, despite this being her fourth go around.

As she let her purse fall to the ground with a loud thunk, she was enveloped in the scent of Steve's cooking. No matter what it was, it smelled heavenly, and she was starving.

“MUMMY’S HOME!”

Not even a moment later she heard three sets of small footsteps run from the kitchen to greet her.

People toss a lot of names around for Steggy children, do you personally think they'd ever use "Howard" for a middle name? Man was Peggy's friend from 1942-1990, and never stopped looking for Steve and all that.

I’m sure Howard suggests his own name several times during Peggy’s pregnancy! But I doubt Steve nor Peggy (especially Peggy!) would seriously consider it.

After all, they would never hear the end of it and that’s what they want to avoid. 😆
