Semi-selective fandomless multimuse featuring four original characters from an original interdimensional setting.

Phosa & Linast are magical constructs who are slowly learning what kind of people they want to be.

Diamond is a former neurosurgeon turned mage who has some mistakes he's trying to fix.

Clemcy is an evil body-snatching healer, and I will be more selective about playing him.

Fantasy with some sci-fi flavor. Safe for work, but may deal with heavy themes. Highly suited to crossovers so long as an in-character multiverse can be accepted.

Writing Flails: Phosa, Linast, & Diamond

The tragedy of these three is that, like. If they’d met under different circumstances — if they’d met when Phosa and Linast were in their right minds rather than freshly traumatized and deadly, if they’d met Diamond in a different incarnation, if they’d met outside of the context of the Spire — things could have been so different.

As it is, well. It’s pretty hard to come back from mind control and murder attempts and tense guardianship and forced proximity.

Writing flails: Clemcy I can’t say that Severance has given me Clemcy feels, because WOW, different circumstances and flavors, but.

It’s certainly given me Clemcy thoughts. Namely, it’s made me realize I need to think about something that’s actually rather character-defining:

On the precipice of his first soul-split, did Clemcy know he was selling himself into service, or did he expect half his soul to meet oblivion? I could certainly see the potential for ambiguity, negotiating with an extradimensional alien entity as he was. 

Either way, the two parts of his soul do eventually cross paths once more. I’ve been pondering what that first conversation with himself might have been like.

Convincing the Mars-body to reintegrate with the servant-body must have been one of the hardest sells he’s ever negotiated.

Status

Clemcy musings aside: hello! I am still alive, but also still ignoring the dash for the most part.

The shape of my life currently is NOT lending itself well to fitting rp back in on just, like. A literal scheduling front??

Turns out I have to be WAY stricter with my screen time and evening routine than I ever used to be, if I want to get my sleep schedule somewhere reasonable.

And from there, it’s looking like I’m gonna either have to get creative with offline, hand-written drafting, or else straight up cancel some of my other existing obligations or social connections, if I want to make actual time anywhere in my week for rp writing.

Anyway. I'm kind of working on exploring those options, but I’ll be real with y’all: I'm prioritizing fortifying my mental health and support network first. So. It's a distant backburner project, right now.

In other words, blog remains on hiatus. 😅

But on the bright side: I am feeling better than I was! I’ve been successfully getting out of my own head a bit and, as said, working to build a broader support network (and to actually engage with the network I already have). It’s helping. It’s just also slow going and time-consuming, hah.

New Years

This year has been rough and sad. The last few weeks have been rough and sad, in among the good times for which I’ve also carved space. I remain uncertain of when I’ll be getting back to RP.

It’s the new year and mostly, right now, I am tired.

But! I’ve had the support of loved ones, and I think I’ve learned some hard but important things, and I’ve done some good stuff, and I’ve had some good fun.

Like hiking! I went on some lovely hikes at the end of December. ^_^

And like y’all! For all that I’ve had to hit the pause button so often, I’ve deeply enjoyed the writing that I’ve done with y’all this past year. Thank you for sharing your words, characters, patience, and time with me. <3

I’m not sure what the next year will bring, but at least on some personal fronts… I am hopeful.

Status

Well. Hello. Been a while!

I, uh, have not been writing. 😅 Kind of wound up taking a true (if unintended) break from both rp and writing my book the last month or two. I think I’ve needed it more than I realized, but I do wish I had realized and had been more intentional about the break, fff. Sorry about that.

I’m thinking about this space again, but can’t make any true guesses as to when I’ll be back. Some life stuff might be shifting here.

(Discussion of family member alcoholism below the cut.)

I’m going to be trying to talk my grandfather into checking into rehab. And if I don’t succeed at that, the other option of reducing my care for him — potentially involving moving out for a while — to take a break for my own mental health and to avoid worse caretaker burnout is going to be saddening to me at the very least. And far less likely to help anything in the long run. So. Blagh.
