Becasue unlike the Daniel of it all, Buck knows what that place looks liek - he could’ve recreated it in his fantasy world (and the fact he thinks he’s a firefighter plays into that idea too) 

But they haven’t given him a different apartment he’s still in the one he has, but the place that is his in the real world - the place that is semi cosy and stylish, but not homely per say - now becomes even more of a depressing space - really highlighting that the loft is not home and not where he really belongs - that it isn’t where his future is!

Loving the fact that everyone else is having a terrible time atm like Kaz and Inej are fighting, Nina can’t get Matthias out of prison and he wouldn’t even look at her, Nikolai’s refuge for the Grisha just got attacked and everyone fled in opposite directions

Meanwhile Jesper and Wylan are living in their own romantic comedy being all adorable and in love
