“It’s good to be back,” he replied, and it couldn’t be any more true. Sometimes he got a little reckless, which often leads to him getting some sort of injury. Sure, a break every now and then was nice, but that wasn’t always what he wanted. By now, Roy’s more than realized that being in action and fighting crime wasn’t just something he did to help people, but it was to help himself too. For some reason, the adrenaline rushes and thrill trips resonated well with him. They made him feel more alive, in a way, like they brought back a sense of his youthful viridity. It brought him back to simpler times, making the world feel like a lot easier around him. Besides, he enjoyed staying relaxed and rarefied as much as the next guy, but there was too much of that for him too. “Hope you didn’t miss me too much. Now, when do we get to do something fun?”

     A Teen Titan she was certainly not (she BARELY qualified as JSA right now, though they seemed receptive to the idea), but a fellow superhero in a tussle was something no self respecting crime fighter could ignore. In a flash, she had already dismantled the weaponry of the men firing at the Amazon. She stood, spinning a component in her hand with a two fingered salute.

    “The Flash -fastest woman alive- at your service!”

   . ﾟ * ｡ ･          she knows she’s looking.  she knows where her eyes have fallen,  it’s impossible to not notice it.  dawn has never been self - conscious,  but donna’s silence is painful.  say something,  anything,  she internally pleads,  but she lets donna’s fingers wander over the scar nevertheless.  it’s just slightly behind her ear,  about the length of her forefinger,  and has faded to a medium pink color.  although dawn has grown accustomed to it and occasionally forgets it’s existence,  the dread stirs in her stomach as donna examines it.

    “ it’s a pain in the ass to cover up. ”   leave it to dawn and her dry humor to try and diffuse the situation.  of course,  it has been quite the inconvenience when recitals roll around,  as does every other scar she’s gotten from being perched atop roofs at night waiting to scare criminals to death.  no one wants to see a ballerina littered with scars and stitches,  and dawn has taken much care to avoid further severe injuries but it isn’t always that simple.   “ my suit doesn’t come up to my neck just because it’s in style. ”   a fleeting smile passes.   “ took on a metahuman before i knew metahumans were even a thing a few years back.  knife to the throat,  just a nick to scare me.  when ---- when we got new suits,  i made sure the materials could . . . ”   her voice wanders off.  hand moves slightly to indicate the scar and she swallows hard.   “ it’s ugly. ”

Unlike the crowd fleeing from the heart of the battle, Lois -- in true ɪɴᴛʀᴇᴘɪᴅ ʀᴇᴘᴏʀᴛᴇʀ fashion -- rushed headlong the opposite way, pushing past a wave of people. It was by sheer luck she had decided to forgo the pumps today. And it didn’t help at all when the ground ｑｕａｋｅｄ, followed by the deafening ᴿᴼᴬᴿ of something gιgαηтιc crashing into the other side of a building... ᴛʜᴇ building that was right before her.
