25/100 days of productivity

we're quarterway there! I did my daily German sets on duolingo on my way to college, had coffee with my friends and then spent most of the day in the lab preparing my gene expression data for enrichment analysis. this task took so much of my time today and I got home super late so I couldn't do any exercise :( I also spent so long sitting in the same position my back hurts :// atleast the data has been submitted so that's good, the enrichment results should be ready by tomorrow morning

12th - 15th Sep || 52 to 55 of 100dop

I'm starting to realize that there are two main things I need most for being productive– a) novelty in my routine and b) sunlight. I'm trying to find different places to get work done so that I don't get bored of doing the tasks that I'm doing. A family emergency came up so I was incharge of the chores at home for the past week as well, so the challenge has been balancing that with college work and basic health stuff like drinking water and sleep etc etc

I completed the major chunk of our final project! There's very little left to do and I think we'll be done with our manuscript in a week's time (!!!!) Other than that yeah. I've been trying to read more as well, but its been difficult :/

Tomorrow I'm going over to my uncle's place to visit my grandmom and my cousins, I think it's gonna be a good change of environment for me, hopefully I get work done there as well :)

I have been drinking more water lately as well!!

today was kind of an awful day. we got hit with some bad news right in the morning and everything has been kind of chaotic since then. I think most of the work I did today was in an attempt to... ignore my emotions... but I don't know

I wrote something for the first time in a while and I kind of like how it turned out (it's up on my writeblr: here). yeah. it's been a strange day.

In other news the mini review my friends and I wrote as a part of our final project has officially gotten accepted for publication by the Cambridge University Press! it's so wild to see my name on a scientific paper for the first time, super cool

I didn't do any gre prep today though so thats kind of a bummer, but overall, i was more productive than yesterday, so tiny steps.

27th September || day 67 of 100dop

today was a lazier day, there wasn't much that I did. woke up early to attend my lecture in the morning but that too was shortended by 30min after which I promptly came home. I went through some old lecture notes on some topics and also restructured some details on our final project

my new bullet journal came home so I started with a new spread. it's been a while since I did any art journalling, the whole thing was very therapeutic <3

in the evening we had a call regarding our internship. the work is based on AI-ML and image segmentation and these are topics we're all totally unfamiliar with, but it sounds hella interesting and I can't wait to look into it and learn all about it!

today was really fun! I reached college super early but our prof didn't show up so my besties and I took to the cafeteria for a long breakfast. I then spent the rest of the morning doing my final project work. my two team mates haven't been around this week but I managed to get a lot done on my own so we're actually ahead of schedule. just another round of validation by next week and then we can start with the manuscript for publication. our guide is really happy with us and as a plus I got to leave early as well!

now instead of going home directly I made an impromptu plan to meet my best friend who brought along his best friend and. we met up at this cafe and spent several hours playing poker (which they taught me because obv I had no clue how to play)! it was awesome! I kind of won the first set and I'm sure there was some beginner's luck at play cus it got more competitive towards the end but either way I really enjoyed. i spent so much time laughing I didn't even notice the three hours fly by.

then my best friend and I walked to the nearest station to take the train home which is like the only exercise I got today. once I got home I watched Red White and Royal Blue!!! it wasn't perfect or the best book adaptation by any means but it boy did it deliver. I laughed and cried and yeah. yeah.

I've been maintaining my duolingo as well!

yeah. tomorrow I get to take it easy because it's a Saturday hehe. hope y'all had a fun week besties!!!

the urge to draw instead of doing my five missing lab reports is alarmingly strong, especially since i have all summer to draw but my lab reports are due tomorrow. i should also probably get off tumblr.
