Lime Pictures Diary - Day 1
20th August 2012 - Day 1
The taxi arrived at the hotel (Base2Stay) just before 8:15am. Despite it being a Monday morning, the traffic wasn't bad, and I arrived in the carpark at about 8:40am. Since I wasn't meeting Human Resources until 9:15am, I signed in at reception (passing a fully costumed 'Tilly' and 'Maddie' on the way), and went to sit in the canteen.
In the canteen were a variety of extras, crew and cast members (I won't spoil anything by telling you how they looked...) getting their breakfast (or lunch, depending on how long they'd been tin!) As I waited, the extras and cast were called to film.
By about 9am, I headed back to reception to wait (during that time, PJ arrived!). There were two other girls there, who I later found to be freelance camera/sound crew, also on work experience. We all got our visitor badges. Not long later, a member of HR arrived to get us to sign some forms and give us a brief induction (including a video with awful acting), then take us to were we'd be spending the week.
When we got up to the digital offices, we were greeted by one of my team members for the week - Terri - who is the Hollyoaks Digital Coordinator. She took me to the office to meet the rest of the team. I got my own desk with a computer and note pad, plus the week's task lists and daily storylines to read, up to 7th September (!!!!!!!!!).
After a little while, Ciaran (one of the online Content Editors) and I went down to the sets to get some photos of Jay and Emmett (who wasn't around yet). On the way down, we met Bronagh and Tom, who were taking a break between filming. I got a little starstruck at finally meeting Bronagh, which took a weird turn when both her and Tom appeared to be excited to meet ME! I don't think I will ever get used to that, I'm not famous! Haha.
Once we'd got the photos of Jay (did you see on Twitter/Facebook?) we headed back up to the office, via the green room. Who should we meet? Why, Tom (again!) and PJ and Kieron! They too seemed pleased to see me (again, as I pointed out), and asked me where my moustache necklace was from, because they wanted to get one for Emmett! (Bronagh also said that Emmett would love it, and that I should stay away from him with it or he'd steal it!) Ciaran got a Stug photo, and off we went again.
At about 11am we all headed to 'the Geordie Shore office' (oooh) for a start-of-the-week meeting. During this, we looked at the online (website, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube) ratings/stats for the previous week. It seems last week, @Hollyoaks got 1027 more followers - yay! We then went through the content plans for the coming weeks. I also got my list of tasks to do, and heard about some awesome upcoming online content (you won't be disappointed...) Oh yes, and during this meeting, the (quite pitiful sounding) fire alarm went off twice - we didn't budge. Of course. LOL.
Back to the office again, and I started work on the-- nahhh, I'm not going to tell you! Haha you'll just have to wait and see... It's good though!
At about 1pm, we all went off to the canteen for lunch. It was such a nice day, hot and sunny, so we decided we'd eat outside (at the tables between The Dog and the Savage's boat, of course!) In the canteen, we stopped briefly at the table of Lucy, Laurie and Jimmy (a.k.a Tilly, Callum and Jack), then went to get our food, just behind Anna (Ruby). I wasn't really hungry, so I just got chips! We all went to sit down, (along with Scarlett/Maddie), but about 2 minutes later, we had to vacate the area so they could film! So we headed back into the canteen, and upstairs to the balcony to sit in the sun. Jennifer (Mercedes) was just going back downstairs after her lunch.
By 1:30pm, Vicki and I went back to the office to carry on working. On the way past the boat, we saw the funniest thing. Joe (Dennis) was sitting on the wall of the pond, trying to eat his chips - but getting harassed by one of the ducks! Just brilliant... Up in the office, Vicki asked me if I could go through the online content, and write a bit of feedback. I said I'd do one better - I'd ask some of my fellow fans for their opinion too! (see previous post lol)
Back to work on my secret tasks (lol) until my iPad ran out of power at about 4:45pm. Switched to pen & paper and the computer for the last 45 minutes, and finally at 5:30pm, I packed up and headed home!
So that was Day 1. Day 2's post is very short: I wasn't there, I was back at the hotel, sick *sadface* But I'm feeling a quite a bit better now, and there's plenty to look forward to tomorrow! Roll on Day 3... (or is that Day 2: take 2...? lol)

Umm ... I don't know, possibly the one where Brendan tells Ste why he killed Danny - the look on Brendan's face is just asdfghjkjhgfdsasdfghj ... But then again Ste is all like "you aren't capable of love" so that kind of ruins it. Idk. There are too many :3
