DODGER SAVAGE & TEXAS LONGFORD (+Doug Carter) in HOLLYOAKS | 26.04.13
i love the strange bedfellow relationship that two people who are in love with the same person share. because they rarely like each other but they love the same person and that means that they love the people closest to that person (hopefully, ideally) and so there has to be a little bit of affection and at least care there as well
Why must Doug always come in with his "my parents emotionally neglected me but the rest of my childhood was good so clearly I know everything about having a complicated relationship with my parents" when Ste's problems are like, my mom verbally abused me, let my stepfather beat the shit out of me, hid the fact that my bio dad wanted to be a part of my life, and now is asking me to murder her because she's dying of cancer and she wants it to be over.
These are not the same level of complicated Douglas!
Moments like this make me wish he could talk to Brendan in prison because you /know/ he would be having a completely different reaction to this.

Dogs Across the Pond - A Hollyoaks podcast
when i was a young boy, i was scared of growing up, i didn't understand it, but i was terrified of love.
I remember Amy hated Brendan.
Got along with Doug.
I think she liked John Paul.
Was ok with Harry.
I wonder what she would have thought of James?
Of Ste and James together as a couple and of James being a stepdad to her kids?
literally feels after brendan, doug, jp and harry all been just crutches for him, all nice devoted men he treats like crap, i also wonder if ste going be knocked for six and finally sink in harry is no longer his and no longer the 17 year old he gobbled up as james said i think harry love for ste was puppy love but for ste it more lust even kieron keeps using the word lust, i mean look how quick ste forgot about harry when got with ryan, i wonder if ryan was closest to brendan e.g passion
Hii lovely!!
I don’t know if you know this about me but I was a huge Stug fan, it’s actually one of the reasons I started watching HO again way back when. Before that, I had watched the McDean storyline but I got dragged back in because of my love of Doug. I think one of the reasons that I currently dislike Ste goes back to his relationship with Doug. I will admit that Doug had his flaws, getting engaged to a woman so that he didn’t have to tell his parents he was gay and then going behind Ste’s back and getting the money for their business from Brendan being two of the big ones but it was obvious how much he loved Ste.
I know a lot of people really didn’t like Doug and sort of saw him as an obstacle standing between Brendan and Ste but he was just one of my favorite character and I’d never really shipped Stedan so I really wasn’t bothered by that.
I don’t remember who said this but it was when Doug left to go to America after they’re married and Ste loses his memories “he’s left, you’ve broken him”. It’s what he does to people even Tony himself warned Harry about how Ste used his significant others and spit them back out.
Ste doesn’t seem to realize that Harry’s not that innocent kid straight out of boarding school with zero experience. He’s been through so much since then and he’s had to toughen up yet Ste doesn’t see that he just keeps pretending that Harry’s that same. It’s why the scene where he forgives Harry for selling himself hits so hard because the only reason he does it is due to the fact that he believes that “wide-eyed, gorgeous, decent lad” he fell in love with is still in there and you can see the devastation in Harry’s eyes at the fact that the man he is going to marry who he loves doesn’t see him for who he really is.
Exactly, right after he started dating Ryan and doesn’t that just show you how he felt about Harry.
