COLORIST REEL - FALL 2015
THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER
Business-to-business web presence & social media re-branding campaign.
DESIRE. OBTAIN. CHERISH.
Taken in the alley between 6th and 5th streets. DTLA in the summer 2010. This is the alley that I spun my fur son nearly everyday for three years. This piece is LONG GONE.
Gone, but not forgotten...
I just came across a fantastic graphic design and typography magazine from Switzerland called IDPURE. In the current issue the Founder and Editor-in-Chief Thierry Hausermann quotes Albert Einstein reflecting on the economic crisis of 1929. It does appear that not much has changed in nearly a century.
"Let's not pretend that things will change if we doing the same things. A crisis can be a real blessing to any person, to any nation. For all crises bring progress. Creativity is born from anguish, just as the day is born from the dark night. It is in crisis that inventiveness, discoveries and great strategies are born. He who overcomes crisis overcomes himself, without being 'over-come.' He who blames his failures on the crisis neglects his own talent, and is more interested in problems than solutions. Incompetence is the true crisis. The greatest inconvenience of people and nations is the laziness with which they attempt to find solutions to their problems. There's no challenge without a crisis. Without challenges, life becomes a routine, a slow agony. There's no merit without crisis. It's in the crisis where we can show the very best in us. Without a crisis, any wind becomes a tender touch. To speak about a crisis is to promote it. Not to speak about it is to exalt conformism. Let us work hard instead. Let us put an end, once and for all, to the menacing crisis that represents the tragedy of not being willing to overcome it"
True then. True now. Do not sit. Stand. This is not the time for self-restraint. It is the time for exertion of ideas and actions.
SALOMON - KILLER FIT
Salomon Killer Fit was the brain child spawned by the fortuitous (and at times clandestine) meeting of the creative team of Brad Steward, Will Hartman, Steve Schofield and Stephen Hens.
NINTENDO - BEN & DAVID
Nintendo DS3d Ben & David was directed and produced by Wander Films. This campaign was helmed by the creative team of producer/creative director Aaron Weber and director Joshua Clark.
This campaign shows people having fun while playing the new 3DS. The spots were used in conjunction with Nintendo's press events which were happening simultaneously in New York and Amsterdam and featured on the homepage of the 3DS microsite. Additional spots will air on the Nintendo Channel which can be viewed on your Wii console if it is connected to the internet.
FIRST5 LA - READING
Reading was one of 20 spots I did for the "Good Parenting" initiative for First 5 LA. First 5 LA is a non-profit advocacy organization that focuses on childhood development during the first five years of a child's life. Their programs are designed to educate parents and the community about the importance of healthy eating, safe play places and proper medical care for children.
The campaign was directed by Danny Trachtenberg. Danny is a filmmaker and video podcast host from the Philadelphia suburbs who currently resides in the Los Angeles metro area. He is one of the three hosts of The Totally Rad Show and a former co-host of Geekdrome. Both programs are hosted at Revision3.
THE SCIENCE OF FEAR - THE SCIENCE CHANNEL
