Given the fact that our blog mentions the 80's quite a lot, we shouldn't be surprised we end up discussing them yet again, though we talk about them in the context of the Australian rock scene, because many bands from Down Under achieved their greatest successes then. I mean, Icehouse are one such case, their Man Of Colours became their biggest seller. While you listen to the disc, you notice why – the LP remains the example of a typical rock album of the era with guitars on steroids, sci-fi synths, emotional vocals and unreal drums. Sure, they're occasionally getting close to the Starship territory, but, luckily, they reach the sound of Hall & Oates. The latter shouldn't shock us, one member of the duo worked on one song from Man Of Colours, which must have influenced the platter.
