Q about Bruderhertz and Schwesterhertz, are they used between close friend or cousins or really only between literal brothers and sisters?

Usually they are only used between literal brothers and sisters.

(They don't need to be your biological siblings, but you only use those words for people you actually define as brother/sister. It doesn't work for other family members.)

stephiedanger - Yesterday I forgot to pray the novena at all. You're probably right though about just apologizing and continuing with it. I'm sure it's preferable to just giving up. I should probably do that now before I forget again!

3. Have you discerned the Lord’s vocation for you?

Nope! I mean I really want to get married and have kids so I’m hoping married life is what will happen but I haven’t seriously discerned any vocation yet. (just really hoping God’s plan is the same as mine but also trying to stay open-minded so far I guess?)

12. Where were you when Pope John Paul II passed away? 

I don’t remember. But I do remember being annoyed that the Catholic school students got out of class for some reason?

30. Do you wear a brown or green Scapular? 

Neither! At least not yet…maybe when I actually am officially Catholic? Also, I didn’t even know they came in green! :o

I am so sorry to hear about your friend and I will keep both you and her in my prayers. Isn't it interesting though that you posted about reading the Christian books and then receiving the calendar just four hours before the post about your friend? You said you thought God was confirming that you should keep reading that stuff, but maybe it was more like "Hold on tight girl, you're gonna need this..." God Bless!

Thanks so much for your kind words and your prayers! <3I thought about this, too, yesterday evening, after I managed to clear my head a little, and I think you're right. It was really great that I did feel His presence like this earlier in the day, because it really strengthened me and enabled me to confidently turn to Him without even a second of doubt or confusion. I have since then been thinking about wether this calendar is meant to give strength to me or maybe for me to give to my friend for strength and comfort. I will pray about it and see what God wants me to do with it. Thanks again and may God bless you, too!

Ideal Protein

Ideal Protein,

you make my heart sing.

You made me cry tears,

as I mourned for pizza and chinese.

but now 7 weeks in,

I am but 12 lbs from 50.

A number I never believed I'd see,

is now right there in front of me.
