In the end, spending time with Jesus in prayer should be like a conversation with Him – just as if you were spending time with a good friend. Speak to Jesus from your heart and then listen. You're likely not going to hear anything with your ears. Instead, “hearing” results in an increase in understanding, acceptance, and willingness to follow God's path for your life. Your prayer should bring you a peacefulness about the path forward.

hi guys, please pray for me as i continue to discern my vocation. recently, the Lord has placed a message in my heart, and there is this deep yearning in my heart to be His bride. i am currently discerning what secular institute He is calling me to be consecrated in, and i will contacting a consecrated woman soon to ask for spiritual direction

Not effort. Misalignment.

Pointing to the example of St. Augustine, Pope Leo said it is essential “to learn to pause and to create space for interior silence, so that we may hear the voice of Jesus Christ.”

In discerning one’s vocation, it is essential to cultivate trust in the Lord, Pope Leo said.

“Indeed, life reveals itself as a continual act of trusting in the Lord and abandoning ourselves to him, even when his plans unsettle our own,” he said.

Vocation ‘a dynamic process’

“A vocation is not a fixed point,” he added, “but a dynamic process of maturation sustained by intimacy with our Lord. To grow in one’s vocation means being with Jesus, allowing the Holy Spirit to act in our hearts and in the circumstances of life, and reinterpreting everything in light of this gift.”

I ask students to reflect on their lives—through journaling, memory, conversation—and then step back and ask: What keeps showing up? I want them to be attentive to repetitive words, themes, desires, wounds, and moments of joy. I call these golden threads. Not because they are always obvious, but because, over time, they begin to reveal a pattern—a kind of narrative beneath the narrative. And here is where things begin to shift. Because life rarely moves in straight lines. It is less like a roadmap and more like a sailboat: adjusting constantly to the winds, moving forward—but rarely directly.

tip of the spear: transhumanism

all of human history people have been denied human rights, basic needs, and self determination

based on who/what they are, how they experience/perceive, or how they look

to live in a world with healthy individuals, in a healthier society

their bodies, minds, and souls must be given safety, health, and freedom

some people cannot move their bodies.

some cannot exert their minds.

some cannot delve their souls.

because of circumstances beyond their control. sometimes.

we know how we got here, as species. if we study history.

science, ideals, information, and technology all have been warped to various ends

some good, some neutral, and some downright evil.

what does transhumanism have to do with this? what does spirituality have to do with the evolution of humanity?

let's just say "spirituality" is the transpersonal relationship between oneself and everything else.

transhumanism is more or less the idea that man is not finished evolving - in body, mind, and soul.

but we have a species that has had a horrible time being bigoted, insecure, self sabotaging (ie being afraid of its' darkness AND light)

so, how can we possibly move forward in a deliberate and healthy way

when we deny ourselves and our reality? when we deny our past and our current feelings/failings?

i see a world in which everyone is housed and fed.

in which people can become whatever is truly within them - whether that be a vocation and/or a creature!

moving toward that reality calls for a radical honesty and unconditional regard for others

which would lead to sharing and cooperation, if not understanding

at last: i want to say that the hope/need to see a better world, to be a better self

will inspire people to make the final push to do whatever they need to do for themselves and their loved ones
