Thanks! I’m pretty happy with how they all turned out. It’s amazing what you can do Frankensteining old textures together and adding details (And a bit more of an advanced texture system.)

This round is pretty much all regency, but I do have a couple of things on the list for after I’m done with this first round of regency stuff that I think you would be VERY interested in. And that’s all I’m saying about that.

I’ve pretty much, with a little Georgian/Victorian overlap (Mostly in the form of “undress”, unmentionables, and athletic stuff.) decided to dedicate this particular hood to Regency styling. (So there’ll be a lot of suits too.)

I think all three of you, even you, Kiri, will be somewhat excited for the next bit. It includes a few things you can use even without playing a period game.

Well, actually...

...It’s Prince. I’m doing a hood with inspired by the lost sims. Inspired by because I cannot for the life of me sculpt celebrities using TS2′s sliders. So, yeah.

The red suit with the Work-In-Progress-OMG it’s hideous citron colored detail-work from the other day is the formal suit for an Alan Rickman inspired sim. The blue suit from the same post is the formal suit for a David Bowie inspired sim.

I also need to do some recolors for my Carrie Fisher and Mary Tyler Moore inspired sims. I figured it was a jumping off point. Won’t net me as many “Nobody X’s like Gaston” inspired jokes as Kellie’s BATBish Sims, but I’m sure I shall somehow survive.

Oooooooh! That is amazingly lovely! Makes me want to play again! And I haven’t played in almost a year. That design on the back of the red coat looks very complicated. Must have been a lot of work! But I’d say it was worth it. <3 It’s very yellow, but I think you’re gonna add shading and texture to it, yes?

It’s all part of @morgaine2005‘s masterplan, she’s dragging us all back in and cackling all the way, I just know it.

Oh. *blushes and stubs toe into the ground* Yeah, that yellow is NOT what will be in the final skin. So, there’ll definitely be shading, texture, shadowing where appropriate. And it’ll probably be redone in the appropriate contrast color from the palette. I just needed, while drawing, a high contrast color I could see well against the red. These are both in progress shots taken straight out of “Kellie! I need some CC??” in chat, not finished or polished yet.

They’ll all, eventually, be done in my Disney 2.0 palette and Shasta’s Yeti Love Song. But I’ve decided to focus on per character clothing to get started. Each sim will get a standard wardrobe to start with in the appropriate colors of their palette.

Most of the stuff I’ll be doing is just basic recolors of what I (or *gaspshock* other people) have already done. (Painting small things with the mouse is one thing, however I like the battered remains of my sanity, so I’m just gonna recolor to the appropriate colors some of the lovely regency stuff already out there.)

As it stands right now standard wardrobe for adult/elder will be:

Four casuals - Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter

Two formals - Weddings, funerals 

Two pajamas - Spring/Summer, Autumn/Winter

Two undies - Spring/Summer, Autumn/Winter

One workout - Most probably “riding” or “sporting” (Depends on the character.)

Two outerwear - Autumn, Winter

Kids (Toddler where applicable/child/teen) will get, mmm, about half that:

Two casuals - Spring/Summer, Autumn/Winter

One formal - Wedding (Unless deep mourning is required)

One pajama - Autumn/Winter

One underwear - Spring/Summer

Two workout - Spring/Summer/Early Autumn “play clothes”, Fall/Winter “sporting” One outerwear -  Autumn/Winter Because God knows I’m completely incapable of achieving simplification even when I simplify.

I’m so sorry you’re having such a hard time! I know a bit of what it can be like. And people can stuff it. Seriously. Not only does it not help it does so much damage on top of an already shitty  situation! I know it’s easy to say “don’t listen to them”, but we really really should (not that I’m all that successfull at it yet either…). I take it you absolutely have to hand this form in yourself? There’s no one you could ask for help? 

Well, actually anyone could have gone and dropped off my form (which I got taken down and dropped in the drop box with the help of my mom talking me through it on the phone tonigh(t. The trouble is the only person I have, in geographic or physical proximity, who could help me... chooses not to. When I asked Michael if he would be willing sometime tomorrow to drop my form off for me, just take it to a drop box that is on his way to and from work, he blew me off. Like anything that would take him out of his way, however briefly.

I am more than a bit reclusive and have no real friends in the area I live in. Since my mom moved to Florida in October of last year, the only people I have are my brother and some cousins who’re half an hour away and I get on best with when they’re not being “inconvenienced”.

Never mind that part of the reason I “needed” to do these things today is because Michael will have my car every day this week from six AM to five PM except today and Saturday because his broke down and he hasn’t done anything about fixing it or finding a new one.

And my anxiety disorders mean public transportation, taxis, or whatever is completely out of the question.

However, thanks to the magic of the internet I have some groceries ordered and I told Michael to pick me up what I can’t order from the store because he has my car.

About the cold: Can you stand ginger? Cause that always helps me. 

You know, I hadn’t thought of ginger. I have some ginger hard candies and the stuff to make ginger tea, thank you! Will definitely have to try it.

Just knowing I’m not alone and that you guys are here and will listen to me whine on and on is more than enough. I mean I am so used to so many people in my life telling me to suck it up and that it’s all in my head (which, yes, it is, doesn’t mean it’s not real, not traumatizing, and not hard to get through.) As Ann pointed out, people don’t really realize how damaging “tough love” can be especially when it’s doled out in response to something I am already beating myself up over.

I know none of my reactions this morning were rational. That doesn’t make it any easier to overcome. So please don’t ever doubt the helpfulness of saying to someone I’m here, I’m listening, and even if all I can do is like your tumblr post and send internet hugs, that it helps. Thank you!

The trouble with sweeping generalizations made when I’m tired is they’re sweeping, generalized, and I’m tired when writing them. I did a disservice to you (and Kellie, and Kiri) because you guys are great at responding to my art and if it gets any notes at all, it’s from you guys. And I don’t say thank you near often enough for that.

The question was more meant in the vein of “What’s wrong with me that this bothers me so much??” and in also “Why do I have such a difficult time connecting with people that I end up feeling like this?”

I’ve never been good at interacting with people. I mean honestly calling myself Charlie Brown is vastly overstating my ability to be personable. Which is neither your problem nor something that you should have to fix.

What you already do is wonderful and I’m glad to have you as someone on my dash. Thanks for the reply and for the care

Thanks, guys. My cousin is fine, she was more mad than hurt. Other than a black eye and some bruising around her nose, she’s the picture of health. In fact the first thing she told me when I called this morning was about how her mom worked some magic and got the blood from her bloody nose out of her “Thing 2″ sweatshirt. (She’s a twin, so she and her brother have a running Cat in the Hat Thing 1/2 gag going on.)

Whether she can press charges or not is somewhat iffy, most of the people who’re witnesses were drunk and there’s some debate over “who started it” because of that.

Apparently she called him a horse fucker because he said she must’ve married her husband so as not to be deported.

Also on the yay for irony scale, yesterday when this happened was Veteran’s day, cousin who got punched? Ten year Army vet and the daughter of an Admiral in the Navy.

If I really believed that guy represented my country I would say something snarky about that. But I think most of us are better than that and again, “they” win if we start believing “they” represent us.

They can all go fuck horses (and get kicked to death for the sexual assault) before I’ll believe it. Thanks again.

I think that’s always the problem with extremes. My personal answer to that question would probably be “at the point where you feel like ‘no’ is not an option”. Cause people need to choose their own ways. It can be sooo hard to watch though.

It was a draft of a tragedy coping guide that spawned the question and I hoped more in the line of friendly suggestions, this is what I do/would do.

But I sorta talked myself out of ever bringing it out of draft form. It feels too... preachy. But that is a good line, place to draw the line, I think. I just never know if I’m stepping over it. Even if I always frame these things as this is my view, you are welcome to do or not do. Only you can change your own mind. it still feels wrong somehow.

Oh that sounds awful!! None in my family would react that way!! I mean, my father even kept that pens holder that I made him with a jam jar for father day when I was 5 or 6.

I have some relatives that “awful” is a good over arcing term for. Jose is at the top of the list. If I ever did any arts and crafts stuff for him, he probably wouldn’t have kept it after he and my mom split up. He’s not a very sentimental man. But it’s okay, I learned a long time ago that living to his standards just made me miserable and he (usually, at least) doesn’t get to make me miserable.
