Sterek Week 2021

It's been a decade of sterek, folks! 10 years into this eternal love between one born werewolf with the personality of a hero, and BAMF human with a spark, who's clever enough to wrap the FBI around his little finger.

They were on the road again.

Or well, technically, they were /above/ the road. Because cars floated now, and they weren't technically even cars anymore so really, this was all a waste of time. Technicalities. If they hovered or drove, over a road or a series of deliberately placed markers that allowed for more nature than a stretch of pavement.

It smelled of wildflowers. Wild Irises waving stark purple against the waves of green. Like the perfect combination of them both. Aroace. Stiles leaned his head against the open window frame, smiling as he realized he never would've noticed a scent so subtle and be able to pinpoint it without the man holding his hand. Derek had always been cheesy like that.

Well, they both were.

Somehow, no matter the centuries they lived... their intensity never seemed to wean. Every place they settle down in they make a splash. Laying low isn't even an option. And then they have to move far and wide and hope any memory of them has been forgotten. They get into enough trouble without revealing to everyone they could live far longer than the average human.

"What are you grinning about ?" Derek asked, voice low and homey. Stiles' favorite version of it. He was never going to tire of knowing their home was right here, together, no matter how the world and life changed around them. Back in the day they had the Jeep, the Camaro, and now some kind of self-driving hoverboard.

Just the two of them. Like it would always be.

"Remember when they made that TV show about us?" Stiles asked.

"Oh my God, please don't."

Stiles burst out laughing as Derek outright face palmed.

"They got everything so wrong. It was HILARIOUS. And then they tried to make us platonic enemies or something but even on a show where they hated our love, it shone through anyway and we were the only ones they remembered 20 years later."

"Just stop. That was the worst-"

"And then! Then they wanted to make a /movie/. Do you remember that? Der, remember?" Stiles shook his arm, trying to ease it off his partner's agitated face.

"I could never forget. It haunts me in my dreams." He said it in a mutter, looking just dejected enough that Stiles knew there was some truth to it.

Stiles intertwined their fingers again and pressed them to his lips.

"Well, jokes on them," he promised, leaning in. " 'Cos they've nothing on us. We get to spend eternity forever. Just the two of us."

Derek smiled, tightening their grip. "Just the two of us."

And well, they weren't exactly riding into the sunset, but they left behind one world back on the horizon, with a new one just ahead.
