National 8 Track Day

8 Tracks (Stereo 8) came out around the 1960’s to the 1980’s time period. Then the compact cassette came out to take its place. This old way of listening to music day is held each year on April 11. I cannot find who started or created this day.

Just considering the sad fact that my 8-track player can only play the fourth program and I only own a tape of Diamond Dogs, which means having "Rebel Rebel" on perpetual repeat. Okay, that and "We Are the Dead," but it hasn't gotten stuck in my head despite being one of two songs I can listen to on 8-track. There's a reason for why that song was a single.
