I just watched a video about Katherine and Caroline and remembered the potential and i just mourn the losses of the million interesting layered relationships we could have gotten that were never explored in favor of the boring messed up triangle of doom so so many interesting dynamics what were your top 5 relationships that you wanted to see explored but never got the chance to?

Haha oh boy… so I’m going to keep this to 5relationships/dynamics that I feel we have no chance of seeing because thingslike Stefan/Bonnie friendship could be revived next season and (no I will neverdrop it until it happens) Damon apologizing to Caroline could (and DAMMITshould) happen next season.

Stefan/Caroline/Tyler Triangle – I know triangle is like adirty word at this point but this had the potential to be the best triangle onthe show. Caroline loves both of them and has at different times taken Stefan’sside over Tyler’s a vice versa and it would have been amazing to see it playout. There’s also the animosity between Tyler and Stefan that has been there sinceday 1 that feeds into the constant push and pull. Even the small glimpses wesaw in 4x09, 5x05 & 6x18 give me so much hope it would have been fantastic.

Stefan/Lexi – Still mad at Damon. I really wish we couldhave learned more about Lexi in general and especially seen more of her andStefan. I mean besides Caroline Lexi is really Stefan’s only friend and I thinkit would have been great if she popped into Mystic Falls every once in a whileto talk some sense into him!

Caroline/Katherine – Loved their little team-up in S5 and Ijust love how Katherine was endeared by Caroline because of her light. Also I’mtotal trash and I think they should have hooked up because there was a bit ofsexual tension between them and I refuse to believe Rebekah was the onlybi-curious female on this show.

Bonnie/Klaus – I wouldn’t have wanted this to be anythingsexual but I would have liked more reluctant team-ups between these two becausethe animosity between them is great! I think they should have handled this similarlyto Klaus/Davina on TO where Bonnie would just hate on him all the time havingno fear calling him out on any of his shit.

Bonnie/a love interest other than Jeremy – I didn’thate the Beremy relationship but to me it was rather boring and its completely ludicrousthat Bonnie wouldn’t have just as many boys after her as Elena and Carolinebecause Kat Graham is gorgeous. I guess there’s hope next season she gets onebut she should have had more flings back in the earlier seasons, they alsoshould have explored more of her witch heritage but maybe we’ll get that in S7.

ok so i dont want to sound crazy but during 5x12, when Stefan saves Caroline from Tyler, am i the only one who was wondering why Stefan was there? like was he actively looking for Caroline, or did he just happen to show up?? like i just wonder how he got there and its just cute to think of him going to look for caroline lol

Haha well I think it was just because Stefan was obviously at the party and since he’s got super-hearing he must have heard Tyler growl and then for him it was no questions asked because Caroline is BAE. I know that’s a highly controversial scene because some people felt Stefan was in the wrong for punching Tyler but, I always felt it comes down to if Stefan has to choose between Caroline and Tyler it’s going to be Caroline 100% of the time. Stefan doesn’t like Tyler and even if he was right to be angry with Caroline he’s still going to defend her and protect her.

I know everyone enjoys KLEFAROLINE (I do too. wait no scratch that i USED to) but after reading other SC blogs, I jumped on the Sterowood thing. That's a triangle that should have been explored more tbh. Because Caroline ""actually"" LOVES both boys. If they probably explored on it more, it would have been a better triangle and dynamic than the other triangles -- Klefaroline, Tyler/Caroline/Klaus, Stefan/Elena/Damon tbh.

Hey Anon! Well Klefaroline is totally my weakness but the K/C/S triangle is totally different than any other triangle because there’s not actually a center to it (at least how I view it.) In fact if I had to pick a center it would be Stefan more than it would be Caroline because I believe that Klaus was just as in love with Stefan as he thought he was was with Caroline, Klaus’ one true love is Ripper Stefan. So yeah Klefaroline is like the ship that if this show was on HBO there would be some threeways going on there, in fact after seeing Dark Steroline I think I’ve decided I really only like Klefaroline when it involves No Humanity Caroline and Ripper Stefan (also why are there not 100 fanfics about this because I need it!!!) In all seriousness though I just enjoy Klefan and Steroline and I think Paul, Candice and JoMo just have amazing chemistry with each other so their scenes would have been enjoyable, I mean we had one episode with the three of them together and Klaus managed to hit on both of them at the same time with his “allure of darkness” speech.

Now Sterowood is actually the best triangle in terms of what a triangle actually should be, S/D/E only really worked for me in S3 because I understood Elena’s conflict because Stefan went bad and Damon was there for her. My issues with the writers going from SE to DE is the way they handled it and the way they turned Elena into the most insufferable character on the show in the process. Tyler/Caroline/Stefan has EVERYTHING though, there’s animosity between Tyler/Stefan that exists because of who they are which means it’s something that never had to be forced. Caroline genuinely loves both guys and in S4 you saw how torn she was between picking sides because she wants to trust them both and I don’t think she realized how hurt Tyler was that she took Stefan’s side in 4x09 instead of his. In fact in 4x10 she says to Stefan that Tyler takes priority over him because I don’t knew until Tyler pointed it out that she was doing it. The problem is the show decided to keep the Originals around longer than they should have because fans liked the characters too much, Klaus should have been locked up in 3x22 and than the Tyler/Caroline/Stefan triangle could have been given proper exploration.
