Summary:
Caroline Forbes is turned into a vampire in 1920s Chicago by Klaus Mikaelson, before he compels her to forget him.
Katherine brings her under her wing only to ask a favor ninety years later-- go to Whitmore College and Mystic Falls and find the doppelganger, risking being found by the boogeyman Originals.
Chapter Summary:
Stefan looks like he's trying to believe her purely out of necessity, but his lingering shock and terror stop him. Instead he kneels in front of Damon and Elena, putting himself in Caroline's way to make sure they're protected from her, Bonnie close at his side.
Caroline pleads. “I'm so sorry, Stefan. I tried to stop her--”
“Why are you in Mystic Falls?” He interrupts her coldly. “Why the hell does Elena look like a vampire, Caroline?”
“This is bigger than Katherine and I.”
“Then explain it to me.” He snaps. “Now.”
