Steve Store Restock!!!

   I have restocked the Steve store, actually I restocked the store a few days ago, my $4 and above Patreons had first pick. There were two Steve kits and a Vince kit available, At the moment there is a single Steve kit as well as all the faceplates, all the wigs (except the cranberry and the black Steve wigs) and all the additional Steve/Vince parts are still in stock!.

  These Steve and Vince kits will be the LAST available for a while as a few weeks back their leg molds were damaged by a batch of resin that didn't mix properly and now need to be remade (expensive and time consuming). If anyone would like me to finish the Steve kit and upgrade him to a finished doll let me know as i can do that as well as convert the Steve kit to a Vince kit (the only different between the two are their arms, faceplates, eyes, wig and underwear sculpt.

  I just received my Steve shirt in the mail and it is AMAZING!!!! Dennis did an incredible job on the artwork, he totally worked his butt off on this design and it deserves to be seen!! A preview of Post Apocalyptic Vince, or “Road Warrior Vince” as everyone here is calling him ;-)

and i think its time to clean my desk.... :-/

This is a OOAK i just finisehd for the charity auction at the Pacific Northwest Ball-jointed Doll Expo he will come with ALL 5 faces and i don't plan on repeating this design again so he will truly be a OOAK :D  I’m going to take nicer pics of him today and hopefully get them posted by next week.

The below image is another AMAZING!!! Steve character birthday card from my friend Dennis, depicting a very unusual and mysterious fellow named Wes who of course will eventually become a doll.. Outside of my personal FB page I don’t think I’ve ever posted a pic of him before :-)

Dennis is working pretty closely with me to bring the Steve comic to light and has several comic projects of his own hes working on so check him out! :-D

Today I will begin my second “Share contest“ I did this a little while back to celebrate the release of Vince and it was fun (especially the dart throwing) To enter the contest all you have to do is share one of my posts (simple huh) The more posts you share the more chances you have of winning :-) the prize will be one of my unfinished doll kits of your choosing! Steve or Vince and if you can wait till the end of June you could also choose a Mira or Nails kit!! :-D 

Basically the rules are pretty simple, you must watch my page, you cant post any condescending tags along with the share, only one share per post will be counted, and the contest will run from now until the end on May.

I’m being kinda sneaky posting this at the end of a regular everyday post,..Just seeing who actually reads these to the bottom, haha,..or just possibly rewarding anyone nice enough to read a page worth of my banter ;-).. I’ll post more details tomorrow.

Some Mira color tests :-)

Remember these are just test renderings to give you an idea of what the finished doll will look like and scale, Mira will be cast in my standard light skintone resin that I use for Steve and Vince and replicating that "glowy matte" surface with the software Im using for test renders is something that's just a bit out of my grasp at the moment.

There's something really funny about these pics as everyone is totally out of character, Mira would never be standing around posing naked and Steve and Vince wouldn't be staring off into space if she were,.. although in that one final oddly alarmed expression pic i thinks shes finally realized she doesn't have any clothes on (as if stuck in a bad dream)

Anyway, I will be opening up pre-orders for both Mira and Nails tomorrow (Friday April 3rd) around 12 noon Eastern Standard Time. When I stock the store tomorrow I will make a post on FB and on Tumblr letting everyone know. I will be offering 5 finished Miras and 5 finished Nails as well as 3 kits for each doll. This pre-sale will fund all the 3d printing, mold making supplies, casting materials and shipping boxes to finally finish these two. I'm planning on shipping them both sometime in June

Mira will be just like Steve/Vince $475 (plus shipping) for a completely finished sanded/painted/assembled doll with 2 expressions plus the extra special third (exclusive to the pre-sale) expression.... The unfinished Mira Kits will be $275 these will include the extra expression as well

Nails will be $500 (plus shipping) for a completely finished sanded/painted/assembled doll with 2 expressions plus the extra special third (exclusive to the pre-sale) expression.... The unfinished Nails Kits will be $300 these will include the extra expression as well.. With both the Nails doll and kit you will have the option of selecting the Nude hip sculpt or the "underwear" sculpt, if you decide to change your mind later the optional hips will be avialble separately.

Nails/Mira like all of my dolls are completely hand cast and created here in my studio by myself and all finisehd dolls come signed/numbered.

When these two are released i will also have an assortment of extra expressions avialble for both.

I ALWAYS enjoy seeing what other artists do with my work. Its definitely one of the highlights of doing what I do and I'm always inspired and delighted at the amazing things people do with my dolls..  I received these AWESOME photos of Steve cosplaying Woody (Toy Story) yesterday from artist/collector Anna Kunavina and she gave me permission to share them! :-).  I think she did a wonderful job on the costume and the photos, if you'd like to see more of her work her personal blog can be found here---> http://annekenn.diary.ru/

Speed sculpt in Zbrush of a creature from the Steve universe.

Finished this guy before bed last night, Only spent about 5 hours on him total so hes pretty rough but its nice to be able to sketch an idea out so quickly and in 3d. I threw the gold render up here just cause I thought it fun to see. 

A huge semi-flightless bird, used as transportation on certain planets. These creatures cannot fly by are capable of gliding long distances (leaping over ravines, waterways).. to give you an idea of scale, the top of Steve head would just brush the frills under its chin.... Would love to turn this fella into an articulated 35" long doll. :-)

I was inspired in part by a bearded vulture and in part by primitive "birds" like archaeopteryx with a dash of the roadrunners from Rango ;-) Im probably going to go back and re-sculpt a lot of him as i didn't have my references for most of the sculpt. :-(

The Steve store is restocked!!

The 3 New Vince wigs that are compatible with both Steve and Vince are Under the Vince Accessories category

All Steve and Vince faces have been restocked as well as all of Steve's wig colors (except cranberry as I'm out of cranberry resin) The additional hands, anatomically correct hip joint as well as the teeth have all been restocked. 

There are two Steve kits available, there were also two Vince kits but they both sold to collectors yesterday evening who were worried they may miss out on them as i only had two available.
