ESCALATOR OVER THE HILL REHEARSALS, 12/70
Less than two years previously, in December 1970, just as the Tony Williams Lifetime were grinding to a halt, two of its members -- John McLaughlin and Jack Bruce -- took part in sessions for Carla Bley's self-funded triple album Escalator Over The Hill. Documentary-maker Steve Gebhardt filmed some of the album's long gestation and this glimpse, of John and Jack rehearsing with Carla and drummer Paul Motian, was included in his eventual documentary, also titled Escalator Over The Hill (released to limited screenings in 1999 but unavailable commercially).

Imagine returning to Cinemas on Sept. 17, 2018
The 1972 documentary Imagine which was directed by John Lennon, Yoko Ono and Steve Gebhardt is going to be getting a special re-release on 9/17 at cinemas throughout the U.S. Its newly remastered with some extras as well. Its a very experimental documentary about a day in the life of John and Yoko. Very exciting that it is getting a re-release. NOTE: This is not to be confused with the 1988 documentary Imagine: John Lennon.
