captain america come over
Part 1 of my takes on Avengers Doomsday:
Steve actually makes me so upset. I hope he is Captain Hydra just so I now have a bigger reason to hate him. Leaving your best friend like that for a woman who accepted you being gone, and you come back and ruin that beautiful moment of independence for her. You give your shield up, but he's convinced he can't do this without you, and then you abandon him. Steve, you ruined the emotional state of the two men that care about you and leave them high and dry. Steve, you could have retired. You could have stayed for Bucky. A man who wanted to change the world and tried so hard to do it the "right" way but couldn't do it the legal way and had to go back to fighting. War after war after war he has gone through. He needed you Steve. Sam needed you Steve. And you were selfish. You could have still made a life away from the shield and still be there for the people who love and care about you, but you didn't.
well yet another movie where steve looks like he's been ordered from temu because they will not bring back the stealth suit from tws *we could have had it all plays softly in the background*
Wait help, I forgot that Steve Rodgers died 😭
Okay guys we need to stop having media with guys named Steve there's too many and I'm losing track.
I want to get into reading Marvel Comics, but have NO idea where to start. I've read the first 2 hawkeye comics and that is IT. So, if someone can aid me in this, that'd be great!! If it matters here are my favorite characters:
- Steve Rodgers
- James Buchanan Barnes
- Peter Parker
- Wolverine
- Hawkeye
I also have a HUGE bias when it comes to art style, but honestly idk
I love the implication that to be captain America you have to be madly in love with Bucky and that's why John failed at being cap.
So im like a huge Captain America fan right?? Last summer I would rewatch the trilogy over and over again, I read all the comics starting from the 2000s, and I've got loads of merch for it just in my room and on my bags.
I love Steve Rogers, I love Sam Wilson, I love Bucky Barnes
...I get so extremely pissed whenever I think about Avengers Doomsday bringing back Steve..
Genuinely, when the leaks of the Steve teaser came out all those months ago, I was SEETHING.
Im my mind, first thing, is "What about Sam?" Now I am aware that Steve and Sam have already been Captain America together in the comics and I quite enjoyed that, and the thing is we don't even know if Steve will be Captain America in Doomsday. No, no what upsets me really is the audience reception to this.
It's such obvious nostalgia bait. The MCU, has so many new stories and heroes to explore and properly develop (Kate Bishop, Shuri, Shang Chi, Kamala, Ironheart, ect) and what do they do?? They bring in Chris and Robert again despite the fact that their time at marvel has BEEN over (what if doesn't count). The MCU does this KNOWING that bringing back Steve will give people even more of an excuse to hate on Sam, who already has an uphill struggle in canon for the same fucking reasons as real life.
And im sorry, but Doomsday is already cluttered with bringing back the X-Men and F4 to have all the inevitable plot drama Steve will bring about with Sam and Bucky alike, because again, his story has BEEN done with, (which I know a lot of people didn't like his ending in Endgame, but either way it was very final), with both Sam and Bucky having already moved on from Steve.
Genuinely, I love Steve so fucking much, but I just hate how he's being brought back for Doomsday ://
I have been someone who hasn't really gotten the same Marvel fatigue as everyone else, having enjoyed a majority of the films to come out after Endgame despite there being a bit of a quality dip, but I think I finally know how it feels like.
