It overwhelms me to witness, time and again, how deeply these historical memories, these family bonds, and this deep, respectful relevance is of eminent importance to Steve.
These glimpses of knowledge are the bricks which build the wall of his soul.
To watch Steve’s expression when he has this connection with someone who knew and served with his grandfather, talking about those days even - moves me deeply.
His face mirrors loss and longing, deepest respect and grief, devotion and a spirit that’s only found in true warriors/soldiers/SEALs.
The intensity of such moments steamrolls me to the ground as always when I get to see this side of Steve. This part where I witness that he severs his country with heart and soul.
